Does the NBA pick up guys from the street, like street ballers?
Has anyone ever went to the NBA for being such a famous street baller?
Was one of those people Jason Williams?
Should the NBA pick up guys that look like they got talent away from the Draft?

Im pretty sure Raefear )Spelling?) Alston was considered one of those guys with street skills in the NBA. Im not entirely sure but Ive heard analysts comment on that during the games he plays.

Philly has produced some mad ballers. But they can come from many cities like LA, NO, ATL, and CHI

Yeah, Alston did play for a JUCO and then for Fresno State. Tinsley didn’t even play high school ball. He was spotted by a JUCO coach while he was playing A.A.U. I can’t think of any N.B.A. players past or present who came straight off the streets.

Yes, a street baller made it to the NBA but the playground in the 70s! I can’t think of his name. And he was an all-star in the 70s. He even made the Olympic team. Somebody help me out.

At the time, I think players were boycotting for some reason and they found this kid in New York who exploded. The NBA wasn’t as popular just yet, but it was on the brink.

Dhamp…the greatest basketball mind in the world. Next to Hubie Brown anyway.

The name you are looking for is Connie Hawkins, street legend, went to Iowa back when freshman couldn’t play yet, got charged with point shaving even though he hadn’t played yet. Went pro after that.
