Which playoff team is likely to make a move to get in the top-10, or lottery teams likely to swap picks on draft night?

Which non free agent players are likely to be shipped on draft night or after?

I think the Pelicans have to make a move to get a wing. Im not sure whether they re-sign Boogie, but if they don’t, you would imagine he may work with them and do a sign & trade. I can see a lot of lotto teams having interest, although I admit Boston and their war chest may be best placed.

Charlotte may try move up and move Kemba. They need to shake up. You cant just be in the back end of the lottery every year. The Clippers have back to back picks, thats pretty unusual, they may be able to flip them for something a bit higher if they are targeting a particular player. New York should really try and trade back to get both Clips picks.. if anyone needs two goes at trying to draft the right player, its them. Or Sacramento.

Although the talent is tremendous this year, I don’t believe it would be wise to package both picks to move up for one guy. The Clippers need to build up the depth of their roster to round out a future core in the making.

Unless it’s to bring back Kawhi or The Brow, I wouldn’t bet on it.

I could see the Kings trading down and gaining an asset or two. Teams they may talk to:

Mavs-Barnes and 5th pick for 2nd pick and an average/bad deal.

Magic might try trade up to get Luka D(if still there at 2) So their pick, another pick and something else.

Memphis might try move Parsons and their pick for an salary dump/slight upgrade and a lower pick.

Clippers could try trade up by packaging their two picks and sign and trading Avery B for a higher pick and average deal

Hornets could try attach their pick to a bad deal and try get a lower pick and an a cheaper deal. For Example OKC Melo+ a protected first or 2nd rounder for an average deal like Nic Batum and their 11th pick. This gives the Hornets a big name(though he is fading) and his deal will expire next year giving them some cap room.

I could see the suns cashing in their lower picks(except number 1) and maybe some of their youth(except Booker and maybe one other young player) to speed the rebuild around Booker up

The Wild card would someone like John wall being moved for a high pick, some youth and average deal or two…

    Or

Melo+ something else for Blake if the pistons want to blow things right up after Stan leaving..

This is the only 3 F.A trades I could see maybe happening though

I could also see the Cavs doing a package deal if Lebron bails or wants some big names to come. So for example P.G,Melo and maybe a protected pick for K-love,8th pick and another average deal they want to move.

Cousins to Wizards for someone like Otto porter, their pick and Kelly O in a sign and trade.

P.G three team sign and trade:So P.G gets paid and does the thunder 1 last solid since we helped get him out of Indianna(since he obviously wanted out)…

Lakers get P.G and a 2nd rounder from thunder

Mavs get Julius randle and the Cavs pick.

OKC gets Kuzma,Barnes and maybe protected first from Lakers

Mavs then Take Bagley with their High pick.

I like the idea of DeMarcus Cousins heading to Washington to play with John Wall and Bradley Beal, but to give up on both, Otto Porter Jr. and Kelly Oubre Jr. would sting hard.

Would take a lot for them to move down like that. Isaac would be the only thing the Magic could offer for the Kings to ponder not taking Luka

And the Kings don’t need depth. As bad as they are, depth is the one thing they have a lot of. They need a potential superstar so they only way I see them traqding the pick is in a package that somehow lands them someone they believe they can build their team around. A Cousins like talent without the headache. I don’t see a trade like that happening.

Some nice trade ideas I have to say!

One question to all of you guys:

When are teams allowed to trade players in the offseason??

Are they allowed to trade right now since the 17/18 season is over or how does it work? Always thought first trade possibility is the draft but realized a while ago it should be earlier.

      Thx

I dont see why not. Theres only 2 years left on his contract anyways and trading Derozan would mean they are rebuilding. The rebuild window would be at least 2 years.

I wouldnt mind this trade to be honest but you gotta throw us the Canadian boy Dillon Brooks.

Some trade where Derozan goes to the Wolves and Wiggins goes to Toronto.

Think Pelicans should not resign Boggie, surround Davis with athletic wings who can shoot the 3 along with Jrue Holiday.

I can see Spencer Dinwiddie getting moved. If a team wants a stop gap at PG that they can evaluate for a year on a low salary who they can get without spending a high lottery pick on. (Places like Orlando or PHX) He played well as a starter last year when injuries hit BKN, I could see someone giving him a longer look.

     DeRozan to mavs

    Wiggins to raptors

    Harrison barnes to t-wolves

Mavs get a better scorer to one of the worst offensive teams

Raptors get the home grown young talent in Wiggins to try to win now or rebuild

Twolves upgrade by getting a player similar to Wiggins style but with a better 3 point shot. They also get a player who will accept his role as 3rd or 4th option

I dont mind the DeRozan to Griz for #4 idea, and the Wiggins to Toronto move is also a good one. How about –

    Wiggins to Toronto

    Derozan to Memphis

    #4 to Minnesota

Plus the obligatory bad contracts and bit players to balance the cap.

    Thoughts?

Definitely see Melo getting traded to a treadmill team in the East

    Melo for Batum + Kaminsky

Melo for Leuer, Bullocks and Stan Johnson

For some reason I really like the idea of Dwight, Melo and Kemba all on the same team

He still has a no-trade clause. If OKC wants to get rid of him, they’ll likely have to buy him out without much savings.

I thought he waived that when he got traded to OKC…That really puts us in an average situation if he does still have it..My guess is a lebron team or a team that can semi-contend and will let him start may appeal to him if he doesn’t opt out when told he will ride the pine/be 6th man next season..

The Clippers at 12 and 13 could well be an interesting trade up option but where would that get them I wonder. Chicago might be an option but would Clips give up 12 and 13 for 7 or might they want 22nd back too?

I could actually see the Clips having a very good look at what is around at their level in the draft and maybe putting one of the picks into play if they didn’t see the right player there they fancied in the draft. A few contenders may need to release some cap money and getting a chance to get into the late lottery may interest them.

The Knicks are always possible to make a big move so might put 9th pick into play if they think they could get an established star.

Cleveland are likely to draft but if LBJ really wants to be win now – packaging 8th with Hill’s deal could be an option.

Kevin Pritchard always made deals during his time in Portland and whilst 23rd pick may not be a high starting point he has over $14 million in team options on Jefferson and Stephenson’s contracts so has tools to make a move there.

Bulls could trade down as Mikal Bridges appears to be what they want.  Doubt he is around at Clippers pick.  Could see them trading down a couple spots.

Those two teams seem like good matches. Denver, Portland, heck even the Pacers could use a player like Morris.

I just think Morris needs to go. We won’t have the minutes for him next year. Not with Hayward, Tatum and Brown. He deserves more than 10-15 minutes a night.
