Looking at the Power Rankings, further confirming what everybody knows, but tjeez, how bad is the East this year. From the top 13 teams in the Power Rankings, 11 are WC-teams and exactly 2 are EC-teams (Heat & Pacers).

Sorry for kicking in an open door but damn…

Eh, does it really matter at the end of the day? Only one team can win it all, and if you look back through history you’ll notice that the winners at the end of the day are all the same. For real, with the exception of the Rockets repeat and Mavs miracle, the last Western team to win it all that wasn’t called the Spurs or Lakers was the 1978-79 Seatle Supersonics…

At the end of the day it’s who has the best run organization, and the Celtics, Lakers, Bulls, Spurs, and Heat have made up  46 of the possible 67 championships that the NBA has had. All you can do is hope that your team owner and management have their heart in the right place and are willing to put a good product together.

I also think it’s worth mentioning that since 1990 the East and West have split titles 12/12, so it’s not all that bad. It’s not like in football were the West won 15 out of 16 Super Bowls at one point…
