The Splash DocParticipantNew York, Denver and Cleveland are in talks for a deal that could send Varejoa to Denver, Carmelo to New York and a package of players to Cleveland. Denver is likely to receive a Cleveland 1st since they have a few in the coming years plus New York’s 2014 1st. Gallinari, Chandler and Randolph at least 1 will be moved to Cleveland. Other potential players I feel could be involved are Toney Douglas, Daniel Gibson, JR Smith, Nene and Eddy Curry of course.

RUDEBOY_Participanti’ve been reading all week that the Cavs say they’re not interesting in trading Varejeo,,,
any team thats willing to trade for Melo are fools unless they get him to agree to an extension….

they feel Randolph and Dano have the potential and are highly considering this, the cavs will not include there 1st round pick for this though.
Ny would send a 1st to the Nuggets, Cleveland will also recieve a future 1st in the deal and may send out a 2nd in the next to years.
Clevelan think Randolph could play some center in there newly installed princetn offense and Dano could play backup PF/SF behind Hickson and Chandler as the starting SF.

HitsterParticipantStrange that Denver want to take on Varejao’s big deal, he’s a good defensive player but they have Birdman who does a similar role to what Varejao does for Cleveland.
If Cleveland and NY do any deal then Jamieson for Curry and a sweetner would seem the logical one to me.

I NO NOTHINGParticipantfirst of all its not what denver wants its what melo wants. Than nuggets will not take in guys with big contracts they wanted to deal for expiring contracts of people like ak47 or troy murphy with derrick favors. Nuggets tryin to avoid luxury tax not add on to it why would varejao big contract go to them for.

HitsterParticipantIf you assume that Melo will move on, K-Mart expires next summer, Denver have a team option on Billups who if Melo goes I would guess would demand a trade and Nene has a player’s option which after two good injury free seasons he may well opt out of as he will be pushing 29 next year so would be better placed to get a good 4 or 5 year deal than waiting another year.
Denver can cut cosats next year but if Melo goes I’d assume that the Kroenke family will not want to pay luxury tax this year if they can help it.
Billups would still have good trade value at 34 years old as he is a proven winner and leader and any team taking him on could surely renegioate a new deal from next year onwards as the likes of Nash, Kidd etc are still effective at 36,37 years old so Billups may have another 3 or 4 seasons ball left in him.

Andy would actually be a decent price for them, they would also get Eddy Curry’s expiring and a 1st form NY so they would save almost 10mil after the year just from the trade and Eddie leaving.
Then the 1st from Ny would help them rebuild around Lawson, Verajao and who ever they bring back

PlatypusParticipantNohla will take Boobie, we have a trade exception we can send and a 2nd rounder or Willie Green and a pick, i’d love if we could have the flopper off the bench but his price tag is too much…
