    http://espn.go.com/nba/tradeMachine?tradeId=6s8bldp

    Timberwolves receive:

    Emeka Okafor

    Clippers receive:

    Chris Paul

    Quincy Pondexter

    Hornets receive:

    Michael Beasely

    Luke Ridnour

    Chris Kaman

    Eric Bledsoe

    Al-Forouq Aminu

Timberwolves unprotected 1st round pick (and possibly others)

I like this trade because it gets rid of the logjam at PG (that Kahn decided would be a fun idea to sign another pg..) and SF giving the option of DWilliams the chance to play major minutes and develop as their star player besides Kevin Love. For the Clippers, they obviously get their guy in Chris Paul but also get a project player in Pondexter who they can use in place of Aminu. For the Hornets, they basically get an entirely new lineup coming in with new PG’s, SF’s and a center. Beasely, Bledsoe, and Aminu all have lots of potential and so those three going forward could be their "star" players that they use to market.

Overall I think this is better than the Clippers previous trades because they’re getting another team involved to give out more players so they don’t have to trade Eric Gordan and can move forward with a core of CP3, Blake, Jordan, and Gordan. I think the only snag in this trade idea would be how much the Wolves are getting back for what they’re putting in but they need a strong inside presence whose name isn’t Darko. And Okafor is about as good of a defensive and rebounding center as they come.

Does this trade sound like it could happen at all?

w/phila9012. They could do better for Beasley and Ridnour than Okafor.

It’s kinda funny how hard people are sleeping on Okafor. He’s a good defender and athlete who stays healthy and consistantly grabs 10 RPG and close to 2 BPG while taking high % shots. Apparently Tyson Chandler and Marc Gasol are getting close to $15 mill a year and DeAndre Jordan is gonna get about $10.5 mill, Okafor IMO is better than Jordan right now and not far behind Chandler or Gasol yet people (fans) don’t seem value him at all. On the right team he could be a crucial piece to a championship.

This goes without saying, Ricky Rubio won’t be able to play SG in the NBA. It’s already a big enough question whether or not he will be a good PG.

The only reason this trade could be possible is Kahn is the worst GM in the NBA. He loves PGs, so I wouldn’t be surprised to see him with a team of 11 PG’s and Darko one year.

Ricky Rubio wouldn’t be playing SG in the NBA…? With the signing of JJ Barea, they have three deserving point guards that deserve minutes. Not to mention their situation with Beasely and Derrick Williams. Right now their back up center is Nikola Pekovic.. and while I like the guy, he shouldn’t be getting more than 12 minutes a game. And Darko should NOT be getting big minutes. Emeka Okafor is a great player and could be the anchor and veteran leadership that this team needs. He’s been to the playoffs, he’s played with a PG that can do wonders with the ball.. He could help this team reach the next level with the talent and potential they already have.

I think this is a decent trade.

-The T-Wolves get a veteran for a young team, trade a talented but weird dude, and also put a great defender next to Kevin Love. Plus they just signed JJ.

-The Clippers get Paul while keeping Air Gordon. This is crucial in them building a championship caliber team. At 22 years old Gordon is going to become a top 5 SG.

-The Hornets get a ton of pieces to try and rebuild the team around while shedding tons of salary. Honestly, the NBA needs to just make this trade, let the Hornets stink to have a high pick, and then move the team back to Seattle within 2 years. Why not?
