my god, I know this guy can shoot and I know its only summer league, but jesus christ, you just don’t see anyone doing rebounds like that in todays game. In 3 years, this guy will shit the center position if he stays healthy.

Those post moves remind me of Barg. KNicks are still going to struggle because they have no point guard and nobody can really shoot that well. It looks like they’re going to grab a bunhc of picks next year and hopefully they can pick up a solid center to run the offense. With camelo coming back for the 2017 season, they have no potential.

I disagree completely, and think he’s actually done what most of us had hoped he would do: Score points and block shots. He’s averaging 10/3 with 2 blocks in only 19 mpg…that’s not bad at all, and should give Knicks fans something to hold onto. He’s a rookie, so he obviously has a lot to work on, and he does seem lost at times, but they all do. Not many players, let alone ones from other countries, come in and become stats at the old age of 19…

I think he’s proven that he has the skill/ability, and that he is def. an intriging talent, that’s for sure. He looks every bit of the 7′ he’s listed at, and he had some great blocks on Okafor the other night showcasing his good timing and length. I think once he puts it all together and figures it out we will see a taller AK47, and that is scary. And no, I’m not making that comparison because they are both from over seas, but because AK is the only player I could think of who shoots threes, played multiple positions, and had the potential to block 3 shots a game.

I’m also curious to if you even watch basketball, not to be rude. It’s well known that this pick had to be a high risk/extremely high reward pick because the knicks have NO PICKS next year in the 1st round. That pick is going to Denver. Also, I think you meant point, but the Knicks also just signed Robin Lopez who is a great defender and rebounder, so they don’t need a center right now.

he is 7’1.25" withOUT shoes and has already put on ten pounds and is up to 230. He has shown great court savvy for such a young and intriguing prospect. From what he has shown in SL, the Knicks may be getting much quicker returns on their investment. His jumper is a thing of beauty coming from a player his size. He has shown to be very fluid for his size and has very solid fundamentals to go along with his jaw dropping size. There is ABSOLUTELY NO REASON to say he looks terrible.  His jumper is a thing of beauty, he takes care of the ball, has a strong handle that he is rightfully confident in and plays within himself. He is also NOT soft like ppl try to allege, he has shown a willingness to bang down low and doesn’t shy away from contact. He’s also shown some impressive passing ability. He has surpassed most ppl’s expectations and has been nothing less than incredibly promising.

if fisher wasn’t inept as a coach, porzingis would be getting twice as many touches as he has been and would be the talk of the summer league even more so than he is already with his teammates damn near playing keep away with him. He should be the focal point of their offense in SL when he’s on the court, but I guess this is fishers version of bringing him on slowly…. I guess. Anybody who isn’t borderline mind blown at this dudes potential from what he’s already shown, needs to reassess their eye for talent.

I’m not 100% sure what was even said. However, the part about "picks" is definitely inaccurate.

Porzingis has pretty much performed precisely as advertised, actually. I mean, what else were you expecting? Nice stroke, superior athlete, weak as a kitten, etc, etc. Initially, I wasn’t loving the idea of him playing in NYC (due to cultural concerns) but so far, so good on that front.

Not feeling the "taller AK-47" comparison, though. Porzingis’ ceiling is so much higher offensively (obviously). While I seriously doubt he’ll ever be as versatile/impactful defensively. Especially considering (even Kristaps acknowledges) adding necessary muscle mass may mean subtracting some quickness. So if one guy is a lot taller, far better offensively, and not nearly as good defensively … at what point do they stop being similar enough to compare?

With Porzingas or did just have a very successful date? Just don’t text that to her.

I really want to see him get dunked on for some reason.

I’ve heard on the broadcast that he’s being announced as 7’3"

I know theres a bit of extra tax on top of that "in shoes", but he did have the biggest wingspan in the class so I’m definitely buying the length.

Yeah, he measured at 7’1.5" without shoes, so it’s assumed that in shoes, he’s around 7’2.5"-7’3"

Winslow was only 6’4.5" without shoes, but nobody has any quams with him being listed at 6’6"-6’7". 7’3" is a conservative listing comparatively speaking

I like what I see from zinger. The obvious weakness he has is his lack of strength. He is not shying away from contact though. He was bangin with jahlil. But of course if time they made contact zinger was pushed back every time. And him trying to post people up, his lack of strength is clear as day. He also likes to put the ball down in a crowded area, needs to keep it high. But I see tons of positives to look at. His stroke is pure. He can eat all day at the ft line. I haven’t seen him stroke the three too well , but his midrange game has been very clean. His length on defense is amazing. He knows how to use it to make of for not being so strong. And he moves his feet latterly so well. I think he can do a good job on the switch of a picknroll and containing the guard. He also looks very confident in his ability, even though he has a awkward feel to his game. I think that is just him being 19 and not fully adjusted to His body and how to use it. His rebounding also needs work. I think he will be an all star in the east.

Make a center or PF chase him off screens. He will be useful. He looks good. Obvious things to work on but he is a kid. He was a solid pick even though I thought EM was the obvious.

What did you invent? I’m sure many smart people use google translate. You don’t need to be mean about this… But seriously I’m curious as to what you invented.

He is only 19 and at 7’3 230 pounds, he still has some growing to do. Who knows, he could reach 7’4 and hopefully pack on some more muscle. I’m looking at him as a five year project. In five years, if he packs on some muscle, maybe adds an extra inch, you could be looking at a freak of nature on the court. I love his aggressiveness and he does not shy away from contact. I think Phil made the right pick here and I think the lakers are going to regret passing on him. The sixers will be very pleased with Jahill. But, if this guy can stay healthy, the sky is the limit. A bigger, stronger, faster version of Dirk?
