    Perry Jones reminds me of Rudy Gay in college not there skillset but the demeanor in wich they play both had unbelievable talent that left you wanting more. The big question with perry is the same as rudy does he have the drive to be good and obviously Rudy turned out good. But lile rudy perry will fall in the first round but i think by hi second year in the league he will be something special. He gets compared to Anthony Randolph but i think the difference is Randolph came out of college to early.

    I thought the same thing about Earl Clark. So, if he ends up like Rudy Gay, great…but if he goes in the Earl Clark direction…

    Perry has a much better J. He plays harder every game too. He runs the floor hard all game and plays within the O. Trust me scouts like that. In the L they will let him handle the ball more. I agree top three talent. Way better than Randolph IMO I never liked Randolph. He will rise or fall based on his workouts not his college play.

     He is  obviously super talented and very skilled, and yes agreed that he is a top 3 talent.  I just personally feel that he is soft with a capital S and i dont know if that is something you can change.  I was watching the Kansas game and they were winning and then he went down with a sprained ankle and obviously not knowing how severe it was i already knew he was mentally done for that game the minute it hapened.  it wasnt my ankle so impossible to know what he was feeling but it didnt look too severe and you could just tell he didnt have the mental ability to at least try to not let it totally take him out of the game.  All that being said I think I like the Tim Thomas comparison for him.  If he can somehow get tougher the sky could be the limit for him though.

    Almost forgot he is also waaay to passive, there are too many long stretches where you dont even notice hes on the floor.

    very apt comparison…Perry jones gives scouts the same kind of concern that rudy gay presented during his draft year…Rudy is much more asertive now, but he still doesn’t have that alpha dog mentality…Which may be a good or bad thing depending on what you are looking for. Personally, I think the Anthony Randolph comparissons are a little unfair.. I understand why people make them, but Jones weights more right now than Randolph and like 20 more than Randolph did in college, so I dont think he will have Randolph’s weight problems (at least to the same degree).

    I like the Tim Thomas comparison too, but people forget that Thomas was pretty emotive while he was at Villanova (I think the money changed him). All of these comparisons hint at the real gamble concerning Jones. Can you be content spending a high lottery pick on a talent which may have no desire to be the alpha dog(reach the peak of their potential) on your team? I think in the last few games (since the losing streak) he has played with an understanding of what people expect of him and his talent, but only time will tell..

    Which lottery teams do you see him fitting best on? I see him working well with Detroit(desperatley need more bigs), Washington (Finally can trade Blatche), New Orleans(Okefor and Landry allow him to develop slow), Phoenix (Steve nash needs someone to finish pick and rolls), and Clevland (let Jamison go and continue to rebuild)…

     Perry Jones is finding his stride, he is becoming much more aggressive
    as the season goes. In his last 5 games he has scored 17 or more in 4 games;
    and is averaging 16.6 (Brought down by his game against Missouri; remember
    he was hurt in the Kansas game and sprained his ankle but still played in their next game
    against Missouri but struggled only scoring 8 points). He is also averaging 8.2 RPG
    and shooting 58.7% from the field. He has also improved his Jumpshot and Range
    averaging 1 3 pointer a game on 32% 3FG shooting and is 6/19 in 3 point range so far
    compared to last seasons 2/10 in the whole year. He will only get better from here, he will have more
    freedom in the NBA to handle the ball and create mismatches he is developing a killer instinct
    i believe he will be a really good pick wherever he goes.
