SpartanGloryParticipantNot a terrible idea, but Turner, smith, and Jennings all have to have the ball to be effective. That would be a selfish team IMO.

Sharp ShooterParticipantdet josh smith and luigi Datome for Sacramento’s Rudy Gay…
Sacramento get a defensive versitile PF to play next to Cousins. (Cousins has made it known that he wants to play next to a defensive minded big man) and a sharp shooting sf off the bench(8man off the bench) Please don’t say the combo of cousins and smith would be a "headache" because Smith has been level headed with the pistons.
Det gets a high scoring sf that can score from outside and inside and close out games

hubhubParticipantI also thought about it but I think that the Sixers arent looking to improve right now. By adding Monroe it would be even harder for them to get a top3 pick. It would also complicate their draft night. Right now they have MCW at the point guard so I assume that Marcus Smart is out of their list. Their next building piece is Noel and Brett Brown said that he sees him as a 5 so I dont think they will be going for Embiid. If they trade for Monroe ( who by the way I think could be a perfect fit to Noel ), it wouldnt make sense for them to draft Randle. So by doing such a trade they would narrow their choices to basically Wiggins and Parker. It looks now that they both will be gone after the top 3 picks so if the Sixers would have the 4th or the 5th pick they would have to take Hood, Harris, Lavine maybe and as it looks for now it would be a reach. The next thing is that Brett Brown wants the 76ers to run and I’m not sure how Monroe would fit to their fast pace. As a 76ers fan I would like to see Monroe in Philly but probably the best thing they can do is wait to the draft and then if they dont draft a PF then go for Monroe. I would probably trade Hawes, Young and Turner but I would be looking to get back draft picks, not players that would complicate the tanking. I was thinking of a trade with OKC : Hawes or Young for Perkins and the Mavs pick

CavFanPRParticipantNot a bad trade idea. They where both top 5 picks in the ’10 draft and both are RFA. I’d think Philly would want a pick and the Pistons would want more players that can help them right now.

TheArtistPaysthePriceParticipantfrom now. IMO any team with cap space a a non top 3 pick in the 2014 draft would trade it for Greg Monroe. Imagine him next to Vucevic the next 5 years. Imagine next to Drummond the next 5 years for that matter.
If Dumars traded Monroe for Turner it would be equivalent to drafting Darko second in the 2003 draft.
If they want Turner they can get him in the offseason and seeing as he isnt playing better than Stuckey its no reason to get him when they could just resign Stuckey for less. Hopefully teams learned from the Tyreke Evans signing even though Monte Ellis did buck the trend by playing well.

Buckets21ParticipantIn the 4-10 range 6 months from now. Obviously he’s worth it, but I think the hard part would be getting him to agree to sign with one of those teams. Not all of them would be willing to trade and at that point there is a good chance he’d rather experience rfa where he’d likely get a few max/or close to it offer sheets and he’d have his choice. Also it’s pretty likely Detroit won’t match one of those offers for chemistry and financial commitment reasons. For those reasons I don’t think Detroit can wait that long to trade him and they won’t exactly have a ton of bargaining power if they do. I think they’ll have to settle for less closer to the deadline.
All of that being said I’m a sixers fan, and the above mentioned trade is ridiculous. Turner is not even close to Monroe in value, and their contract situations are similar, while not the same. The sixers other 2 trade chips (hawes and young) don’t really make sense for the pistons either. And acquiring Monroe goes against what the sixers are trying to do as they have 2 young pieces and 2 potentially high draft picks to build on. I don’t think signing a max contract with a team as young as they are would be smart until you see what you have and unless that player has proven he’s 100% worth it.
