ceiling-dwight howard with a jum shot

    baseline-javale mcgee/deandre jordan

    bust-greg oden/kwame brown

realistically-demarcius cousins  but no free throws(weired huh) a guy with a jump shot but no free throws

if this pans out andre drummond could be the new face of the franchise with greg monroe resurecting the motor city bad boys era

but we just have to wait and see in the regular season if this pans out

andre drummond if i were a sports agency could find him sellable just cuz of his physical attributes

and inteligence for his age(18yrs old) he is already mature from what dummars was talking bout in the press con(again as a part of his request "he did not sell on drummond to high on the press" there happy

anyways final conclusion drummond is a prtotypical center with great size good nba body with a great future if he ends up anywhere in the demarcus cousins category im happy for him as a pistons and nuggets fan(cant choose one sorry)

as for the guys maturity this situation should help

he was called by Joe Dummars at 10pm in new york to work out in a small gym

for an 18 year old he quickly jump out of his bed and worked his butt off in a small gym in new york

from 10-12mid night and several personal conversations with joe dummars

i tbhink that says that the guy is willing to work hard and that the uconn situation was to chaotic to be even considered as a judging stand point on how he will play in the nba

Drummond  is definitly a project but he could make an impact in the nba right away

the kid would be taken under the wing of greg monroe a  good mentor and a good situation from both players if you ask me

they both compliment each others weaknesses and will definitly establish a brotherhood with the team for years and years to come

the city and the fans could make drummond mature just cuz the city is a though city to live in if your an immature 18 yr old it will toughen drummond up for sure and he is working with a history of nba championship level team the detroit pistons with a certified nba champion in joe dummars

I think with Drummonds just like with Favors, you have to wait a year.  He will be raw and show signs his first year but have little production but his second year there will be a lot of games where you know he belongs and he will be a solid contributor.

as for favors he was in a team that had to many good bigs like millsap,al jeff, kanter

drummond on the other hand is in a great situation where the pistons are not stacked on great bigs

but i see the same potential with favors high ceiling kind of player

if he went to the bobcats and the bobcats got mkg and biyombo favors could might as well be a star right now(hypothetically speaking) but as far as the Jazz team is concerned he is in a team with a deep talented pool of bigs that can either play the 4/5 spot and be starters in other teams(not playoff teams)

    @ rham

he was called by Joe Dummars at 10pm in new york to work out in a small gym…….

Was this the night before the draft ? I read a report about a Pistons GM flying to New York late the night before the draft to meet with Drummond and watch him work out….

it was a day before he got drafted but you could see a persons maturity through this kinds of workouts

and joe dummars was really impressed on how he worked hard late at night in that small gym in new york

for an 18 year old its really impressive on how he answers questions and on how he handles those kinds of situations

drummond already has the form he just needs the consitency and the range his post moves are already there just needs work but if he could he shoots well in the right and left wing bout 12 to 15 feet away from the basket abd in fade away jumpshots during his highschool though his time in uconn reminds me of kyrie irvings time in college not that fetured but had great impact in hs and in the nba level(just the situation reminds me of irving and nothing else)

all of those are true, except the Jumpshot, but Drummond is still a Diamond that needs extensive polishing, i dont see him having a huge impact this year, though from internet sources people says he is a workaholic, he has the drive to get better.

but i see the pistons to be monroe’s team, you see how he played for his soph year, he showed he can score with various post moves, he aint the most athletic one but he has the basketball IQ to outplay postplayers, i see drummond taking the Pippen role, helping Monroe Shine

Monroe needs an athletic big to be paired up with him, a shot blocking long big,

The Pistons will give Drummond time I’d assume, I don’t see him starting any time soon as they already have two young guys in the starting line up in Monroe and Knight. We know Drummond will learn defence from Coach Frank and if Ben Wallace stays around he’ll have a perfect guy to mentor him.
