Kevin6CDParticipantSix Championship Drive is a fairly new Pistons blog that I started, and I just posted my second mock draft the other day. Feel free to click over and leave comments/opinions, either on the players or with suggestions to improve the site or formatting. Hoping the Pistons keep losing so I can make one where they actually keep their pick!

JeffreyhardenParticipantIf the Pistons get the top pick and select Jabari Parker. I would do a sign and trade Greg Monroe for Eric Gordon and Austin Rivers and hire Mike D’Antoni. Imagine a team of
PG Brandon Jennings Rodney Stuckey Will Bynum
SG Eric Gordon Rodney Stuckey Austin Rivers
SF Jabari Parker Kyle Singler
PF Josh Smith
C Andre Drummond
running a Mike D’Antoni’s offense. Drummond would average 22-16 next year.

Kevin6CDParticipantthat lineup a lot if there were a different PG. Jennings isn’t as terrible as some people make him out to be, but I don’t think his offense is good enough to mask his defense. I won’t be pissed if he’s back, but I would be pretty happy if they found a taker for him and got someone like Kyle Lowry.

r377ParticipantI checked out your Pistons blog. I like the Joe Dumars Status check – "still employed" haha. Also like your Josh Smith shot chart…

Kevin6CDParticipantI plan on doing more shot chart evaluations in the future, so make sure to check back or follow on Twitter, @kevin6CD. Thinking the next one will be on Brandon Jennings, probably some time this weekend assuming I have time. I’m hoping that one day the Joe Dumars Status Check will read: "Clearing tables at Denny’s"

IhateusernamesParticipantDantoni has never done ANYTHING without Steve Nash. The Pistons just hired Mo Cheeks who had never won anywhere. They cant bring back another proven loser.

Kevin6CDParticipantThe threat of him bringing D’Antoni with him (assuming LAL is smart enough to fire him) is the main reason I don’t want Colangelo. His time in Toronto didn’t turn out great, but it mostly hinged on Rudy Gay’s failure, and I don’t think he made a bad trade for him. If Gay had played like he is in Sacramento, that move would’ve looked pretty good. Also deserves credit for the DeRozan and Ross picks, as well as Valanciunas. All things considered, I think he’s a pretty good GM. If I could get some kind of guarantee he wouldn’t hire D’Antoni, I would love to have him running the Pistons.

esperanzafleet69Participantgood blog for us stones fans, keep it up, i bookmarked the page.. i especially like your coaching outlook, but i feel like you’re overlooking a lot of qualified candidate’s. among some others, idk if george karl still wants to coach, but i truly can’t believe i havent heard anything about him here in detroit.
"if joe dumars can run an nba team, i can probably run a basketball blog."
good stuff man.. nice blog…
anyways, i think you overrate saric, even if he is talented enough, gm’s wont draft him ahead of some of the players you say they will.
on that note, someone should plan an nbadraft.net get together at a real pistons game…

Kevin6CDParticipantThanks for reading, and I’m glad you enjoy/bookmarked it! I considered Karl when writing the post, but I guess since I haven’t heard much about him lately, I left him out. I would be pretty happy if he emerged as a candidate. Also, I’ll admit that I do value Saric pretty highly, but I think that his skill set would translate pretty well. Unfortunately, he probably won’t even be in my next mock. Seems more and more like he’ll be playing somewhere in Europe next season instead of the NBA. An nbadraft.net get together would probably double the attendance at any Pistons game.
