This past week someone made a post stating  teams shouldn’t allow Murray to fall to Phoenix at #4. Pairing him w/ Booker would be abolutely deadly. I made the same comment a few weeks back and got crucified for it.

But Coach Cal said it best… The NBA is becoming positionless. You could have a backcourt of Murray and Booker and be fine, even if Murray isn’t a pure point.

So the Suns would have a logjam in the backcourt…. I read the article about Eric Bledsoe being the perfect fit in Cleveland next to LeBron. So my trade idea was Bledsoe for Love straight up. (The Cavs could move Irving to the 2 guard since he’s more of a scoring guard or trade him. I don’t know).

The Suns also have a lot of cap space. I would sign Dwight Howard. I know it’s easy to hate on him. And I’m not the biggest fan of his game. But the guy still plays hard and would be a perfect fit for this team. He didn’t cause a scene this season when he wasn’t getting touches, watched Harden dominate the ball night in and night out, and the team was going through a pretty rough season. There is something to say for that. If you watched him play this season he really did run the floor and play some pretty solid D.

So you lineup would be Murray Booker Warren Love Howard

You have floor spacing. Solid 3 point shooting. A stretch 4. A rim protector. And would still have some nice pieces coming off the bench.

I think Love and Howard are two of the more criticized players in the game. Look at Howard’s stats from last season. He played in 71 games.

13.7 points on 8.5 FGA shooting 62% from the field. His lowest FGA since his rookie season. This should tell you little he saw the ball this past year.

11.8 rebounds and 1.6 blocks. Not the shot blocker he once was but still a capable defender.

And Love has just never fit in w/ LeBron. Can’t tell you why. He just hasn’t. He can still be the player he was in Minnesota. And I think he’s a better defender than people give him credit for. Not a great one, but not as bad as many would lead you to believe.

Just a few ideas for the Suns this offseason. I’m sure I’ll get blasted for them again…

I don’t dislike your idea, but I’d personally target Whiteside over Howard.

Also, I like Murray but if you take him I feel like one of Bledsoe or Knight would have to be on the move. Personally, I think it would make a lot of sense for the Suns to go with Jaylen Brown.

To continue your theory trade Bledsoe for Love and then make a trade for Noel as the perfect compliment to Love defensively. Knight for Noel. Draft Murray (I’m starting to think he’s gone at 3) and pick BPA at 13.

Booker still a work in progress, Love horrible,Warren a work in progress, Murray not sure but my guess has a long way to go. Howard would be the only defense. To me it puts them in a win now mode with no chance of winning. So nope.

Im not concerned about the fit on offense with Booker/Murray, but without seriously marked improvement from on or both on defense (which is hard to see happening), it might be a rough go on that end of the court.

Not a fan of getting Love. I just think its too hard to get the right kind of players around him to be successful.

ThaT said I’d rather take Bender at 4, mostly for the defensive potential combined with the ability to stretch the floor and pass. But if hes off the board all bets are off and im cool with whichever guy is BPA for them, even if its a guard. It doesnt sound like Knight is going to be too happy with a bench role, so id move him. Maybe to Memphis since their backcourt is pretty bare even before the possibility of Conley leaving. I’d take Jamychal Green (big fan) and #17 (target Taurean Prince) for him, with whatever spare parts need to be added.

The only relatively realistic FA target I’d look at is Dwight Powell. Super high energy big with a developing jumper. With Len heqding into a contract year and Chandler not a long term piece (along with injury concerns for both), he might be a nice value addition.

Theres no quick fix, id try to look for some young role players and find some roster balance, see if anybody separates themselves (kinda the way Booker did), and continue the process.

Id also kick the tires on RFA Mo Harkless during free agency. Though the fact that hes been starting on an up-and-coming team and that hes restricted makes any agreement doubtful.

And im not sure theres any real way to get it done, but i would LOVE LOVE  to snag Jonathan Simmons from the Spurs.

Like the trade but include P J Tucker with Bledsoe for Love.  Might have to include a draft pick (13th) or later pick from the Suns.  Cavs are not going to trade for so little after giving so much for Love in the first place.  Would def do this and draft around Love.  Hield, Bender Murry or Dunn would be on the short list.

Bledsoe shouldnt go ANYWHERE. He and Knight are not the same, knight is the expendable one. Bledsoe is a beast

Also, Murray and Booker can play at the 2 and 3, not the 1 and 2. Booker is 6’6. He can fill out a lil. NBA SFs dont make you pay in the post anymore.

Bledsoe, Murray, Booker. In that scenario i like th idea of a Dwight Howard or Whiteside to anchor the post

The Suns have Tyson Chandler with 3 years remaining on his deal and Alex Len who they drafted 5th in 2013 to play at C, so I don’t see them looking at D12. Before you consider that D12 would want to be on a contender and his contract demands.

If anything they take a young C and look to move Chandler to a contender. As a Phoenix fan, I’ve always liked Chandler but feel that at 33 he deserves to be on a relevant team and if we can get an asset back for him great. He’s not on the worse contract, knows his role well which a contender likes from their C.

I don’t see us flipping the 4th pick personally, either draft a PF or a SF.

Eric Bledsoe has had a number of injury issues over the years so I don’t see a contender risking much for him.

Any trade for Love would have to include Booker who we don’t want to give up.

gets going…………. B/c when people see Okafor play w/ a Real team w/ Actual talent his Stock will Skyrocket……..

This kid went from competing for a National Championship at the Country’s Premier College Basketball program – Duke –  to playing for a D-League team & NBA laughing-stock franchise……….. & those D-League players Admittedly Quit on their coach……..

Just about Everyone in here has played Team sports on some Level & I want someone to tell me that if they were New to a team that began the year winning One of 30 games that you would Not lose Motivation too………

If you watch some of Okafor’s early season games he borders on Dominant in the Low Post as an 18 y/o!…………

He Destroyed Boston’s front line on Opening night……… He had a War w/ Rudy Gobert on the Low Block & Gobert who is 23 y/o actually reached down to help Okafor up after one play b/c it was Clear how much respect he had for the kid……. He Dominated KAT in Minnesota in November………

This is a VERY weak Draft…… & some team is going to get Okafor for a Ridiculously Low price…….. Anyone who claims he is Al Jefferson 2.0 Never watched him play in October & November b4 he realized how Hopeless his situation was……..

If I’m Phoenix I give Phila #4 & I throw in Knight or Bledsoe (whoever they want)…….. I now have Okafor & Booker & pick #13 to land another talent……. & I now have an Incredible Inside / Outside Combo for a Decade Plus……..
