Philly has picks #32, #39, #47, #52 and #54. Any chance you can see the Sixers packaging some of them to maybe move up and get a 3rd 1st round pick? I know it would probably be in the 20’s but Ive seen that type of thing happen before in many drafts.

It is certainly possible, but not because 2nd round picks have much value, but rather because they can be traded without impact to salary. We may be able to eat some salary and send back a second rounder or two in exchange. It would ultimately be a salary dump, but I wouldn’t be surprised if someone wanted to do that.

I could see OKC taking a couple second rounders and giving up their 29th overall pick.  This way, they don’t have to pay two rookies.  They’ll most likely keep their 21st pick and hope to add some depth, but they might be willing to ship out the 29th.

To see them do something no-one is expecting: hold onto them ALL.

Some people have had success using the strategy of drafting Euros in the 2nd round, stashing, and bringing them over after anything between 1 and 5 years.

We know some of them work out, and a lot of them don’t. So why not take the strategy to the extreme and draft them all?

That way, one or two surely have to pan out, and there will be a staggered feed of quality, seasoned ballers coming over from Europe over two or three seasons.

They should think about trading their picks at 32 and 39 to OKC for 29 and Hasheem Thabeet.  I would rather be at 29 I were them.  Thabeet would give them another shot blocker to protect the paint, as a backup to Nerlens Noel.  I still am holding out hope for Thabeet, and I think he can be at least a solid backup center.

Next, the Knicks want to get into the draft.  They also want to get rid of Raymond Felton.  I would trade 52 and 54 for Raymond Felton and cash.  Felton gives them a solid backup point guard, and a guy who can play with either MCW or Wroten.

The Sixers would still have the 47th pick with some solid talent still on the board.

Really don’t like the Felton idea. We don’t need that kind of influence on a young team, and bottom line is he takes touches away from our young gaurds.

I would package Thad, #32, and #52 together, and beg Phoenix to give us their #18. Why not #14 ? Because I don’t think there’s a chance in hell that they’re gonna give us their first pick in this draft, even for such a package.

Then, hoping that Adreian Payne would still be there at #18, that’s who I’ll take. If he’s gone, then I’ll take whoever’s left in the following order of preference:

    1. Cleananthony Early

    2. Jarnell Stokes (Why him at #18 ? Because I think he’s very underrated. A wide-body PF in the mold of Elton Brand, or Charles Barkeley type with a good head on his shoulders and exceptional work ethics who could slip into the late 1st round. And that’s a chance I’m not willing to wait until my 39th pick in the 2nd round to take. So, I think he will be a steal whether he’s taken in the late 1st or anywhere in the 2nd round).

    3. TJ Warren

    4. Jerami Grant

    5. Clint Capela

Jarnell Stokes is built like Karl Malone.  If he is there at 32, he would be a STEAL for the Sixers.
