    Brad Beal, Wizards (#3)

Though they would probably thrive in D.C., neither Thomas Robinson nor Michael-Kidd-Gilchrist are worth such a high pick when you already have terrific prospects like Kevin Seraphin and Jan Vesely competing to play up front with Nene…and when a blue chip off guard like Beal is still on the board. Wall shot 7% from beyond the arc; give him a phenomenal shooter and athlete to play alongside and watch how much more comfortable he becomes running the offense. Beal would bring a motor comparable to that of Kidd-Gilchrist, he crashes the boards and buckles down on D, and while he projects to be a top scorer at his position, he also happens to boast terrific shot selection for a SG his age (Wall’s previous backcourt mate, Jordan Crawford, hoisted 14 shots a night and made just 40% of them). Beal turns 19 on draft day but already has an NBA frame, not to mention an All-SEC 1st Team badge on his resume. He’s the perfect guard to grow with Wall.

    Dion Waiters, Raptors (#8)

Wonder why Raptors GM Bryan Colangelo is badgered with questions regarding a supposed promise to Dion Waiters seemingly every day? Because Waiters would seem be an absolutely perfect fit in Toronto. Arguably the least exciting team in pro basketball, the Raptors would benefit hugely from the spark that Waiters promises to provide. Whether he’s given the freedom to put his tremendous scoring ability to use as the team’s sixth man or is fixed in the starting lineup with DeRozan moving to SF, Waiters will make his presence felt right away. A powerful and explosive guard who lives to take the ball hard to the basket, Waiters would be a nice foil to the mid-range situated DeRozan and post-and-pop dynamo Bargnani. And suddenly, with Waiters (20), DeRozan (22) and Jonas Valanciunas (22), the Raptors have one of the most exciting young cores in the East.

    Kendall Marshall, Rockets (#14)

Despite Kyle Lowry being under contract for two more years and the probable urge to make an offer to unrestricted FA Goran Dragic, Marshall is a perfect fit in Houston. Lowry has been causing the Rockets problems with both his health and his attitude. Dragic can be set free. Enter Marshall. Rockets GM Daryl Morey is all about specialty stats and value when it comes to acquiring talent, making Marshall a potentially huge get late in the lottery. The best passer to pass through the college ranks in more than a decade, Marshall knows how to run a team and while his potential to as a scorer is limited, his potential to change a team entirely with his stunning floor general qualities suggests that he might actually be one of the most potential-laden players in the draft. Don’t think Morey isn’t aware of the impact Marshall could have on this team.

John Jenkins, Cavaliers (#24 or #32)

The best shooter in the college ranks this past season, Jenkins might be a fairly one-dimensional scorer but he’s the type of marksman that the Cavs would love to stock in their backcourt. Jenkins shot a scorching 43.9% from range on 8.7 attempts a night as a junior, dropping 20 a night as Vanderbilt’s go-to guy. The Vandy standout was also one of the big winners at the combine, measuring a solid 6-4 with a long 6-9 wingspan and an impressive 36” vertical, assuring teams that he’ll be able to get his picturesque shot off more easily than they might have previously thought. Jenkins’ upside is limited, but upside, as in the case of Marshall, is relative; for a team with an offense built around an attacking young PG, Jenkins could be invaluable on the perimeter.

Tyler Zeller walks into training camp as the best true center on the team. Prob won’t start from day 1, but will get significant minutes as he can pair with each and every front court player on the Bucks. Skiels and Hammond are on thin ice and probably wouldn’t see a player like Myers Leonard teach his potential before they got fired.
