    Pacers:

Paul George- Played weak and soft the 1st game, very active in the 2nd, and continued his active play in the 3rd game. His shots finally started falling, and he showed off the pure shooting stroke that makes up all warm on the inside. Made some athletic plays in transition, where he’s most effective, as he always dones. Showed some nice crossovers, but his handle is still too loose. Very good passing ability, makes some very unselfish plays. Played active D, even though he’s not very fundamentally sound at all. Uses his length and quickness to make plays in the passing lanes. He’s not quite polished, but you can easily see the scoring potential he possesses. Scores in bunches and has a sweet shot.

Lance Stephenson- He played well, and even though he didn’t look for his own offense very much, he still can get his shots when he wants. Overpowers other PG’s on this way to the rim. Rendered Sundiata Gaines and Tyrese Rice ineffective when he matched up with them. Showed a new level of unselfishness today, even though his teammates rarely finished. Displayed good floor vision and handles once again. Dictated the pace of the game better this game than any other game. Makes plays down the stretch and when the going gets tough. Played great D once again, really underrated defender by most. Can smother smaller guards with his physical tools. Once again, slowly proving that he should be Indy’s starter at PG next year.

Magnum Rolle- Really has some exciting tools. Very long and energetic and has nice quickness. Can face up and out-quick burlier big men or outwork guys on the glass for easy shots. Athletic and long. He’s never going to be big or real strong, but he can be a good energy player off the bench with some decent face-up skills.

Josh McRoberts- Has some guard-like skills. Passes and handles the ball well. Threw some seriously nice passes for a man his size. Finally cut his shots down, and played some in the high and low post. Made some athletic finishes Still not a good rebounder or defender though. Has the ability to stretch the floor, but I don’t know how much he’ll figure into the rotation next year.

    Utah:

Gordon Hayward- Had a lackluster game, to be modest. He lets the game come to him and all, but sometimes he comes off as timid offensively, especially in half-court sets. Has long moments where you don’t know he’s on the court. Usually a sweet shooter, but he missed open shots tonight ( I take that with a grain of salt though). Made his free throws once again. Lacks confidence putting the ball on the floor it seems at times. Has to play stronger. Shows sound passing skills. Is a feisty defender, who got his only basket off of a steal from a lazy pass that resulted in a transition And-1 play. I don’t think he’ll play much next year. He seems like a back-end rotation player right now, as he lacks the aggression and a true niche.

Kosta Koufas- Another solid game. I believe he saw where I said he sucks. Made some nice moves down low and had some strong finishes. He was matched with Josh McRoberts though….Rebounded pretty well for the 2nd game in a row. Defense looked shaky when faced with McRoberts, and gave up a lot of points and passing lanes. He might be their backup C, and he can develop into a mediocre one. If Sloan gets over that he doesn’t defend.

Sundiata Gaines- Poor game. He played tough and feisty D on Stephenson, but he really didn’t take him out of his element still. Didn’t run the offense very well. Was dominated by Lance on both ends.

Othyus Jeffers- Alright, I gotta write about him. Why is his name Othyus? But he seems to have good athleticism and is pretty strong too. Not much of a ball-handler or shooter from what I see though. Plays solid D.

What about James Augustine for Utah? He had a very good game, as he has the the other 2 games for Utah. I think Augustine might get an invite to training camp come October, and he could possibly be this year’s Wesley Matthews.
Not trying to compare to Matthews or anything just saying that he could have an extremely great year and really surprise people just like Matthews did last year.

Augustine hustles to get his points, shows a decent mid-range game and he has a nice motor. I could see him getting on the Utah roster.

Espically with Boozer going to Chicago, they will have Milisap start. Do you think he’ll be the back up power forward?

Jeffers has a pretty good handle. Or at least he did in the D-League. So far in the Summer League he just seems to straight-line POWER his way to the rim.

And who’da thunk we’d be saying "Hayward looks good on D, but his offense needs improvement."
