Celtics3178Participantif your the Lakers do you really want to pay 9 figures for a guy who doesn’t want to win? Too me Paul George just wants cash and LA I know he grew up there but still. Unless he can lure other big name talent do you oh him all that money? If I’m paying a guy a max it’s because he wants a ring. How do lakers fans feel about that. I love what they have in Ingram and think Ball has talent just needs to work on his shot. Wouldn’t you rather max Lebron and someone?

SeattleSuperChronicsParticipantHell yeah I want PG. If Ball and Ingram end up being legit stars and we can get lucky with one of the power forwards we drafted..add that to Lopez. That’s a legit team. Also, word is Klay will be coming to town when his contract up.
Lakers will be the next western conference team to win it all besides the warriors.

iguapops420ParticipantGeorge wants the best of both worlds. To me, his interview today just validated Magic and Pelinkas 2Max FA plan next year. George basically said they’re too green right now, but if one or two guys get on board and they can form something there then he’d get on board.

Dazzling Dunks and Basketball BloopersParticipantI can’t speak for what George will do, but if he makes an all-nba team next season OKC will have the ability to offer him a 5 year deal north of 200 mil. If they make a good run in the playoffs next year and Westbrook resigns long-term he would have a pretty compelling case to stay.
Would George really walk away from that to take less money from a rebuilding team in LA? It wouldn’t much sense from a competitive standpoint and wouldn’t necessarily be an easy sell. Either he would just really have to have his heart set on playing for the Lakers or he will have to believe that they actually give him a better chance to win a championship. For that to happen, significant roster upgrades will likely need to occur. I’m not in any way taking it as a given that George is definitely coming to LA.
Of course, if lebron really does want to play for the Lakers it’s a whole new ball game and just about anything becomes possible. I’m not holding my breath waiting for that to happen though.

ThenilonatorParticipantPlease! As if he doesn’t want to win! People get on here and stick it to guys like durant, lebron and others for chasing rings and here is a guy who, despite wanting out of Indiana, has never really been public about joining a "super" team and now he doesn’t want to win. You think you become one of the top 10 basketballers in the world without a ridiculous competetive edge and will to win. GTFO!

Andv1 WaitingParticipantIt all depends these factors:
Does he make and All NBA team.
Does he make an Allstar team.
Does he win.
Where he stand the best chance to win.
If he makes an All NBA team this gives OKC the ability to pay him the most(if that matters to him) which could be a possiblity if he balls out and OKC wins a lot of games.
Allstar team OKC and both K.D and Russ always making it proves this isn’t impossible. However with Butler coming west it also got a little harder than vs Eastern allstar team which we may see some random ones next season..However if he stays in the west even with the Lakers he still faces this dilemma…Which may cost him money(I think this can effect contract earnings if correct)
Does he win assuming chemistry/injuries aren’t an issue this is possible that they can go far as the can essentially implement some of the K.D sets they used to run,They now have one of the deepest teams they had since 2012 when they went to the finals with centers who can actually score and P.G gets to play with a MVP(legit one) something he isn’t going to experience unless he goes to a) GSW they have two,B) Cavs or C) any team Dirk or D-rose are on both of which wouldn’t be contenders at this point of there careers unfortunately..Which will help him out with the heavy lifting to get him both exposure and a deep playoff run.
Does he stand a chance to win it all this year or at least have a deep playoff run: It all depends on who gets the right side of the bracket-For example we would be best avoiding one of these two teams until WCF: GSW due unless they are injured have more star power and have played together for longer= greater chemistry and the T-wolves as they would have a grind out style and length which may effect our stars performance as they could be more fatigued resulting in a loss to the next series..Other than that the West is kind of open due to moving of key pieces and the East is all beatable if you come out unscathed which I see one of either Celtics or Cavs coming out of there(barring injuries)
As for going to the lakers I wouldn’t write it off especially if you believe ingram or PG can play SG and you can get couple of good solid players to round out ideal core around P.G,Ball and Ingram, but I think they would be smarter taking a slightly different approach and targetting the best available- Sg Klay and the best available center-Cousins maybe? The round out the team with shooters to help make Ball and their stars have space to operate..Otherwise I would keep adding good young players that fit your ideal team core of Ball(assuming he is the ideal PG) and Ingram which may make more sense for them and P.G to stay with a more veteran win now team..
