Paul George...
I am pretty sure I am the biggest PG fan on the site and I have to say this injury to Granger has humbled me somewhat. I still think he will be the best wing from 2010 draft however that is not as good I as initially thought. As to what sort of player he will be? I would like to point out a man by the name of Tayshuan Prince. Nowthis is not a negative thing to me as I believe he will be an eliteperimeter defender and a potential solid 23rd option on a championship caliber team (hopefully Indiana). This however revolves around Indiana finding a 2nd (Granger?) and 1st option scorer so that he can slid into that role as being a defensive/rebounding machine who can knock down open shots.
19/20p-7r-3a- 1/2 steals
Meant to say 3rd option.
Paul George will be a super star. Give him time, he's too unselfish right now. He is played his whole career out of position because of Granger.
I wouldn't say he has superb athleticism, he is a good smooth athlete. He isn't very agressive likely because his ball handling is only so so, and tends to be content with taking jump shots. He could also be a better defender given his size and length. The guy has a huge fan base on the site as a future Superstar, but I just don't see it.
He needs a little more time playing the SF.
I agree. I think him playing SG and being asked to be the primary perimeter offensive threat on the team is messing with his development. He should be a defensive minded, complementary player 3 who runs the floor and takes open shots. He's not gonna have any success as a shot creator with his lack of handle. Because of his inability to create he should be used as a 3rd option at best.
Their max guy needs to step up and provide that inside presence so that the spacing will be at least halfway decent.
Paul George isn't even as good as a young Andre Iguodala.
George is still young and will get better (hard worker), but he's very overrated. He's a great athlete, but not an elite athlete. His defense is good, but not great... His defense became overrated after he defended D. Rose in the playoffs as a rookie.
I'm just not very high on George. His ball handling is still weak and he settles for three's too much. He's getting to the damn free-throw line less than 2 times per game. He's still just a sloppy ball handler, passer and decision maker.
I pray to God the Pacers don't overpay him like they did Roy Hibbert.
He's a player much like Nic Batum, a good 2nd maybe even 3rd option that does everything else (defense, rebound, etc). You are mistaken if you think he will ever be a 1st option type scorer, he simply doesn't have that mentality nor the skill-set to ever be one.

With Danny Granger being out for 3 months this is an oppurtune time for Paul George to step up. George is an interesting player because of his ability to rebound for his position (him and Evan Turner are probably the best) and his superb athleticism but his inconsistent shot has me a little worried. People having been calling him a "Future Superstar" and all i keep thinking about is a young Andre Iguodala being called that too and never quite lived up what Philly fans expected. So the question is what type of player to you expect Paul George to be? Thanks
