Does Pau make the All Star game this year for the first time since 2011?  He’s done a fantastic job for the Bulls and has fit in right away.  At the age of 34 he’s having arguably the best year of his career.  Look how his stats rank against his all time bests:

    PPG – 19.3 – 3rd highest of career (20.8 and 20.4)

    RPG – 11.1 – 2nd highest of career (11.3)

    BPG – 2.4 – highest of career (2.1 2nd highest)

All while shooting 51% from the field and over 76% from the line

    Think he can make it?

If he can stay healthy, I definitely think he’ll be an All-Star. There still aren’t too many big men in the NBA who are as offensively skilled and fundamentally sound as he is.

It’s refreshing to see him back on the low block and put in position to play to his strengths.

Agreed, he got by on the fact he had Nash, Stoudemire, Marion and Joe Johnson in his starting 5.  Hell those guys in the same team would make me look like a master coach.  Most fun team I’ve ever seen play though so I can’t put too much on Dantoni

But I think the only reason for that, he was not getting the ball enough…  His demeanor changed when he wasn’t involved in the offense…  I used to see it all the time in games…  I guess this is for most big men though…  If you want them to defend and rebound, give them the rock!!!

Part of the reason he hasn’t made the All-Star game the last few years has been because of the plethora of All-Star level PFs in the West; Kevin Love, Blake Griffin, LeMarcus Aldridge, Zach Randoph, Dirk Nowitzki, Tim Duncan, Anthony Davis, David Lee, Paul Millsap (for the Jazz in 2012 and 2013).

Competition is a bit less fierce in the East, although Love definitely makes the East a bit tougher than in the past few seasons.
