HaleParticipantI was looking at the ESPN top 100 prospects for the draft and I saw this guy in the mid-teens and I know nothing about him. It says he is a 6’9 235 lb center, which seems undersized. He is also putting up 5 and 3 for Florida this year. Can anyone enlighten me on what he is like as a player?

B FreeParticipantHe is a raw athlete who’s game is all about run amd jump. Actually he is like a freshman Tyrus Thomas with more size.

Dc773ParticipantHe has Reggie Evans written all over him. He’ll either be in the league or in Europe earning big-buck.

JNixonParticipantYoung is an aggressive player who will try and finish with a dunk or strong finish every time he’s close to the rim. He’s a 6’9 235 PF much more so than a C, and he’s very physically mature for an 18 year old Fr. He rebounds pretty well, doesn’t give up easy shots in the post, and is usually the hardest worker on the court whenever he sees the floor. His skill set isn’t very good and he can’t shoot or put the ball on the floor that well, he mostly scores on the offensive glass, loose balls, or dump offs via guard penetration. Young’s problem comes from his tendency to be overaggressive, as he’s pretty foul prone and he will sometimes just throw wild shots at the rim for the sake of getting a shot up it seems.
He has hustle player, fan favorite potential.

hiphopismylifeParticipantHes just pure energy. Florida is deep in the frontcourt right now so I don’t think his stats will be overwhelming right now but down the line he could very well be a double-digit rebounder in the SEC. Hes a guy you want on your team.

RUDEBOY_Participanti hope he doesnt act foolish and enter the draft..becuz he’s far from being nba ready..but if he sticks around until his junior year..and learn how to play the game..instead of getting by on his athletic skills..he’s over agressive on defense at times..but you want your big man to be agressive..he have to learn to stay out of foul trouble…he can be a 1st rounder in 2012…

stealsgaloreParticipantSullinger went off in that game but I saw a couple plays where Young completely shut him down because of his strength and athletic ability.

I can guarantee you Young won’t declare for the 2011 draft. He’s not on ANY teams draft radar for after this season and that won’t change. I don’t think any site or even himself is fooled into thinking he’ll be an NBA player by the end of the season.

RUDEBOY_Participant^He’s playing at a high profile program like Florida ..He’s a great athlete and they can fool teams into drafting them higher that they should by having great workouts…I’ve seen a few basketball sites that have Young among the top 54 prospects….

JNixonParticipantHim getting 5 ppg and 3 rpg at Florida is no different than him getting 5 ppg and 3 rpg at Kansas State or Florida State. Young isn’t thought of by anyone as a 2011 prospect. Not even himself I’m willing to bet. He’d have to declare for the draft to get teams to be fooled by his workouts. He’s not even going to declare after the season.
