IndianaBasketballParticipantWatching the first summer league game of the summer… It’s half time.
I’m very impressed with Myles Turner… He has a NBA body already, shoots the ball great with three-point range and just seems to understand how to play at both ends. He keeps the ball high offensively. Plays within himself. Can already turn and shoot the fadeaway over the right shoulder a la LaMarcus Aldridge. The issue with his gait isn’t really that noticeable. His size and length is phenomenal. I think in two/three years, ppl are going to be wondering how he wasn’t drafted earlier than 11.

BleedGreen808ParticipantI think he had met with doctors about his gait and they determined it was something that could be fixed. He just needed to work on core strength and hip mobility through stretching. I noticed he looked better running in one of his workout videos. Glad he had a good debut and with Hibbert possibly on the move he’ll get plenty of playing time this year

EspressoprodigyParticipantYo, I just posted on another thread how much like Aldridge he looks on those jumpers. It’s actually like I’m watching Aldridge

CameronCrazy11ParticipantI compared Turner to Aldridge before the draft as a realistic best case scenario. A few people replied and didn’t agree with me on that so I’m glad to see I wasn’t completely crazy for comparing the two.

T RexBetter defense than Aldridge, so Anthony Davis is a better comparison as far as potential.
Davis is a way better ball handler, passer, and one-on-one scorer, but Turner is 4" longer and is a better shooter already.
Everybody acted like it was a big questionmark whether Turner could develop killer post moves, as if a guy that long and with that shooting touch would struggle to make a basic turnaround jumper from 5 feet.

CameronCrazy11ParticipantHis defense actually reminds me of a young Jermaine O’Neal. My original best case comparison for Myles Turner was Jermaine O’Neal/LaMarcus Aldridge, but I switched it to only Aldridge as the season went on because I grew worried about Turner’s athletic ability. Kind of wish I had just stuck with the first one now.
