festar35ParticipantI can’t help but feel the Pacers should start George at SF next season and trade Granger. I think a trade of Coutney Lee, Terrence Williams and Brad Miller for Granger would work.
Line-ups of Pacers – Collison, Lee , George, Hansbrough, Hibbert with Williams as 6th man. Rockets – Lowry, Martin, Granger, Scola, Hill or Thabeet

Leftovers16Participantghetto hit it spot on this comming from a pacers fan your willing to trade a proven scorer and a seeable future for the potential of a newer player? that makes no cents…

ghettosermonParticipantNot to mention it improves your team in no way. If you are trading Granger you get a top flight big man or PG in return. Also how the eff is this rebuilding and you are going to take on Brad Miller’s 2 year 10 mil contract after this season. If you are rebuilding you don’t trade your 27 year old 20 ppg scorer for 2 career role players who both have multiple years left. So basically you are saying you’d rather pay Brad Miller/Courtney Lee/Terrence Williams than Danny Granger. That’s just strange.

Leftovers16Participantyea kinda sad to see Favors getting tossed around the league wasnt he like top 3 out of high school? Utah is in trouble if you ask me they really dont have a star on their roster and a lot of teams have young guys who are just packed with potential

festar35ParticipantMy bad meant to put Rockets 1st rounder in there as well but yes i think that this trade would work. I am extremely high on Paul George and i believe that he could develop like Derozan when Bosh left if Granger was to go. It gives the Pacers a solid SG that can start and play defense as well as a guy who can create in Williams. Miller can back-up Hibbert and still teach him a couple of things.
Wouldn’t be opposed to Derrick Favors trade though if i had to choose between the two would probably grab Favors and the Pick.

natedogggParticipantmaybe granger for lee williams and a first but thats only if they decide they want to blow it up and start again.
as it stands theyll have the most cap space this summer with the intention of adding talent to the core of granger hibbert and collison.

TRC1991Participanttrading your best player for 3 guys who wont get you more than 8 points per game? just a meaningless idea

SwatLakeCityParticipantUtah isn’t trading Favors. He is young and could still grow another inch or 2 soon. He has learned from the two big men of Jefferson and Millsap and will continue to do so. Expect him to continue working on his game over the offseason and he could start at Center next year with an improved game and Jefferson would go back to his normal position of PF, and Millsap can come off the bench as a 6th man. They won’t trade Favors cuz they know he is a big asset to the team’s future. Utah has been searching for a big man for ever. Favors might be their guy!!!
They will get a star soon. Favors can be that star if he continues to improve. Also Utah has the Warriors pick in 2012 (top 7 protected). The 2012 draft is jam packed with stars so expect them to get their star in 2012 as well as having Favors continuing to improve thus reaching his potential.
They have 2 lottery picks this year as well so don’t expect them to struggle for long. In about 1 to 2 years this could be their lineup:
- Brandon Knight (6th pick of 2011)/Harris/Price
- Jeremy Lamb (2012 lottery pick from Warriors)/Miles
- T. Jones (late lottery 2011 pick)/Hayward
- Jefferson/Millsap
- Favors/Oriaki (Own 2012 pick in the twenties)/Fez
(By this time Okur, AK, Watson, Bell, and Elson will probably all be gone but Utah will still be a force with this lineup)
The entire starting 5 has a bright future. They would have 2 6th man players in Millsap and Miles. a good backup PG in Harris. Hayward, Oriaki and Fez will just continue to improve. Watch out for Utah in about 1 or 2 years. They will get back on the map and they will be a force to be reckoned with.

thunderbear82ParticipantI like your enthusiasism WardB, but I think the Jazz need to rebuild a couple of years before there picking in the twenties again. I hope i’m wrong but I have a feeling the Jazz will struggle for a few years.

HitsterParticipantThe Pacers hung onto JO for too long until his trade value had dropped so may consider moving Grainger on but personally I cannot see it, they have been knocking around the 30 to 35 win level since the brawl in the Hall team was disbanded and Reggie Miller retired. Now they have a developing young core in Hibbert, George and Collinson to back up Grainger and with cap space finally they may look for a decent FA or two to add to the roster.
If a deal with the Rockets was done then the Pacers would want young talent like from Budinger, Hill, Lee, Patterson, Williams etc and some picks to compensate for giving up a 20ppg player.
