PAC-12 NBA Prospects
1 guy in particular I would add is Aziz N'Dyaiye from Washington. He is gonna be a junior next year and he is extremely raw. But guy is 7 feet 265 and ripped and a very good athlete. He got 5 points 6 rebounds and 1 block last year in 17 minutes a game off the bench and should see his time go up significantly this season. This guy could be an undrafted scrub or a top 20 pick, at this point it is very tough to tell with him, but defenitely a guy to keep an eye on.
Angelo Chol is an intriguing prospect. U of A is going to be a really fun team to watch this coming season. And id like to suggest Jabari Brown, guard from Oakland High. The kid is a stud and has a NBA type of body now and can produce right away. One of the best step back/ mid range game in the nation amongst the class of 2011.
guttierez is gonna be like a 24 year old senior this year i think so his upside is severly limited. I do think he has 2nd round chances. Guy is one of the ditiest players i have ever seen which is honestly more a good thing then bad. I like the fact he plays tough and gets under guys skin. Some team might feel like a role player who comes in and does the little things is worth a second round pick over some unproven guy who has the tools but doesnt use them or is weak mentally.
I noticed fogg is listed on this site as a second rounder. BUt keep in mind so was jamelle horn all last year on this site and he didnt get any love during the draft. Maybe aran smith just has some extra Zona love. Not saying he wont get drafted but he doesnt do anything special. I did like Foggs improved play making skills he showcased as a junior. Hes no longer just a shooter.
I'm sorry. I love Gutierrez as a college player, but I have a REAL hard time seeing an NBA team looking at him as thinking he's an NBA prospect. He's tough and plays with passion, but he's a 6'2 combo guard who lacks athleticism and who struggles with efficiency. He shouldered a big load of Cal's offense last year but I never got the sense that he was ideal for that.
Fogg isn't anything impressive to me as a prospect.
I honestly have to see Oregon more, so I'll watch out for Carson.
No Oregon Jorrye? Jabari Brown is real, I think he definitely has the makings of an eventual NBA prospect. He is one of the best shooters in the incoming freshman class, and I honestly believe he is just as good as Nick Johnson, if not better. When Jabari went to Findlay Prep, he was putting up numbers, and he lead a Drew Gooden Soldiers AAU team with Kyle Wiltjer, Josiah Turner, Nick Johnson and Brandon Ashley, in scoring. Not to mention, he should be awesome in Dana Altman's system. Plus, Olu Ashalolu got positive feedback from scouts when he tested the waters, and Devoe Joseph has game too.
The Pac-10 gets slept on big time, and I guess people do not get too watch the later games and such. UCLA is stacked next year, and the Wear twins should prove to be legit NBA prospects as well. Props to providencefriars on Jahii Carson (going to ASU) though, that kid is a speed demon. I expect him to eventually be an NBA guy. Guttierez and Fogg I am not incredibly high on as far as NBA potential, but they both are solid contributors. Trent Lockett is also due for a big year for ASU. Jared Cunningham came on strong for OSU (though I can understand leaving them out). For WSU, Faisal Aden should be a major scorer along with Reggie Moore. Aden looked great earlier in the year, than kind of came down too earth, but should take on much more of the scoring load. Also, EJ Singler rules. May not be an NBA guy like his older bro, but he plays hard and has been all we could ask for thus far in his college career.
First of all shoutout to the hometown, Saginaw, Michigan. Next shoutout to my boy pookie, aka Maurice Jones who you guys continually sleep on. Dude is five seven but absolutely dominates at times and he's only a sophmore this year at USC. He's the best player I've ever played with and one of the best I've ever seen. Dude was a top scorer assist man and lead the team in steals as a freshman last year. Here's his player profile and few college and high school videos. My dudes game is legit.

I haven't seen much of the HS guys besides the big names. But I was watching clips of Josiah Turner on youtube, and he reminded me a lot of Gaddy with his on court movements. Is that a good comp for him coming out of HS. A lil more aggressive scoring minded Gaddy? And what is he, a 2, 3 yr guy or what? I usually wait til the season to find out about these guys games but just curious.
Love Crabees game.
Who is Josh Hustis? This is like the 3rd time ive heard someone mention his name. On the Scout.com board alot of Stanford fans are talking about him killing Nick Young in the open runs this summer but i've never heard of him.
Don't sleep on C.J Wilcox. Freshman with the same stats as Ross but a better shooter
@cward, huestis is solid player who will be a decent role player at stanford. BUt there was a former certain member of this site who propped him up big time.
As for wilcox, i agree dont sleep on him. He is not as good a prosepct as ross imo, but the guy is on some ray allen type stuff with his jumper and at 6-6 and a decent athlete its not like his overall game cant grow especially since he is just gonna be a sophomore. Here is a highlight clip of him just shooting jumopers in games last year. Obviously cant really judge a guys nba potential based on mostly open jumpers, but dude is money. He put 24 on the bruins last year i just the second half of a game when he got hot.
^^ it didn't work.
Yeah people tend to hype players up on here.
I just looked up the Stanford kid and he didn't put up much numbers wise but he must be doing something this summer because people on the UCLA and Stanford boards on Scout really like him.
Washington's back court is gonna be ridiculous with Ross,Abdul,Wilcox and Wroten
washingtons entire team is gonna be sick. They return their starting pf in darnell gant who started every game. He is not a great player but he is a knock down shooter. Starting center aziz ndyae as i mentioned above. Swing man scott suggs who is a very good defender and took over the starting spot when gaddy went down with an injury and averaged 7 a game. Maybe the best huskie team i have ever seen.
Arizona:
Solomon Hill- 6’6 230 combo forward..Strong build and can pose small mismatches for both forward spots in spurts…Pretty good wingspan…Good pick and roll player…Developing shooting skills…Not a bad passer…Not very skilled…A bit too undersized to be a combo forward…Motor isn’t great…Mediocre athlete…Could get more chances to produce with Williams off to the NBA
Josiah Turner- A smooth 6’3 Fr. PG…Has mastered the art of the hesitation dribble…More smooth and deceptive and than explosive and freakish as an athlete…Decent scorer…Nice playmaker…Has the frame to get bigger, although he’s thin right now…Capable of making the fancy pass…Needs to improve as a shooter…Sometimes doesn’t manage the game all that well…Forces shots an passes…Likely will need time to learn on the fly to be an NBA prospect…Long term guy
Cal:
Allen Crabbe- A wiry 6’5 SG with upside coming off a productive Fr. season…Possesses a pretty good shot…Can utilizes quick pull-ups when closed out on too hard…Unselfish player…Willing rebounder…Needs more strength, but has the frame to pack on weight…Needs to get better defensively…Should improve his handle…Long term prospect
Stanford:
Anthony Brown- Long 6’6 Soph. SG with potential…Shows potential as a shooter…Needs more strength and ball-handling ability…Average athleticism…Guy to keep an eye on down the line, but in need of polish…Cardinal will be looking for growth out of him next season as a Soph.
Dwight Powell- 6’10 PF forward with length…Interesting skill-set…Can function as a post or as a face-up player…Promising passing and shooting skills…Pretty good rebounder…High IQ player…Length makes him a shot blocking presence…Fluid and smooth player…Badly needs more weight…Not quite a good enough shooter to face-up exclusively, and not strong or big enough to post down low a lot…Needs polish and time...No skills to hang his hat on yet
Josh Huestis- Lol. Just kidding.
UCLA:
Joshua Smith- HUGE 6’10 300+ big man with some interesting tools…Is a huge threat to score down low because he seals so easily due to his wide frame…Possesses a soft touch around the rim…Can get to the foul line in bunches…Has good feet for a man his size…Pretty overweight, and probably would be best served to play around 275-280 than the 300 he played at last year…Might not be a hard enough worker to sacrifice though…Struggles with fouls…Fails to get in and out of his moves quickly down low…Plays below the rim…Fairly shaky rebounder for a guy his size…His fundamentals are lacking…Could be in for a breakthrough year if he gets in better shape
Reeves Nelson- A tough 6’8 235 PF…Gritty player who will do the dirty work…Strong…Doesn’t shy away from contact…Has a knack for finishing shots around the rim…Not a big talent…Only mediocre physically…Plays below the rim and lacks great athleticism…Not a true jump shooter, which is a concern for a guy with his physical and athletic profile…Not a game-changer on D
Washington:
Abdul Gaddy- 6’3 pure PG…Has promise, and made nice strides after a nondescript Fr. season…Looks good with the ball in his hands running offense…Very unselfish passer…Sees the floor well and takes care of the ball…Plays the game at his own pace…Smooth…The ACL injury he suffered is an obvious concern…Not very aggressive…Only OK quickness and explosiveness…Still developing as a shooter…Still growing into his body, but does have a promising frame…Can still struggle on D…Has upside as a pure PG with size though
Tony Wroten Jr.- A nice sized lefty 6’5 205 Fr. combo guard…A big talent…Loves to make the flashy play…Probably the best drive and dish passer of all the incoming Fr…Exceptional body control…Impressive and creative ball-handler…Can run the point…Very aggressive and supremely confident…A bit too much of a risk-taker, and will turn the ball over…Jump shot is streaky…Ball-dominant and selfish…Not a fundamental defender…Attitude concerns?...Has lost a degree of athleticism and explosiveness from his ACL injury as a Jr...Interesting to see how he fits with a pure PG like Gaddy who also needs the ball to be effective…
Terrence Ross- 6’6 185 Soph. SG…Good length and athleticism…Sweet shooting touch…Likes to shoot the deep ball…Needs more pounds…Also should look to play more defense…Shaky handle…A bit one-dimensional…Long-term upside as a scorer
Washington State:
Reggie Moore- A thin 6’1 180 guard…Pretty nice athlete…Will take the ball to the rim…Nice ball-handling skills…Improving as a shooter…Not very strong…A bit inconsistent…Not much of a defender…Played with a broken hand last season, and it obviously effected his play…Late bloomer
