MkadozaParticipantI love Rubio’s lil old Grandma.. Mira, que guapo!
Did they also say maravich had super natural court vision? If their talking about attacking to score yeah. Maravich was a gunner. Rubio is a pure point.
And Rubio’s not going to reach his potential playing in the same league for 6 years. Competition makes you better, and we know where the best is. The only thing you can even take as a desire to get traded is "Minnesota has my rights for now."

McDunkinWell when a player says "dont draft me" I think it would have been smart to listen…and to not draft a few more guards after that.

M-DYMESParticipantMcDunkin, thats the whole reason they went after more guards. If Kahn had any logic, that was about as far as it went in that process. I really liked Flynn coming out of that draft, but def. not over guys like Curry/Evans…etc. Minny was very high on Tyreke Evans and much of what was being said prior to the draft was that Minny was going to look to grab Tyreke above Rubio. Just so happens that the kings felt that way as well. I dont think they evaluated Curry well enough and then allowed Flynn’s personality and athleticism to seduce them into taking him with that next pick after Rubio.
Flynn was picked to fill the void at PG, b/c Minny did forsee Rubio not coming over in the next year or 2.

McDunkinI guess it just boils down to Kahn having a job that he shouldnt.
You shouldnt have to recruit a player to draft him. If he says he doesnt want to play for you move on, especially with the other guard talent that was available. They could have, like you said, took Evans or just moved the pick.

BothTeamsPlayedHardParticipantWith Roy likely to never be the dominant ballhandler in Portland again, it would be a wise long-term move for Portland to try to work a deal for Rubio. They have and will continue to have shooters for a long time, but with Roy’s knees and Miller’s age they are going to need a distributor to get them all the ball.
