BKKnicksfanParticipantMiami, Boston, Chicago
The Orlando Magic are playing well, but thier championship dreams are blocked by those 3 teams. You want to know what they think can fix that? Gilbert Arenas….Oh boy. I ask this: With Orlando’s current roster, do you think there is a chance Dwight Howard could leave Orlando?
http://hoopshype.com/salaries/orlando.htm
I don’t know why, but I think it can happen. Look at the salaries, it reminds me almost perfectly of Cleveland’s last year. Orlando has been in trade talks for a Carmelo and CP3 but if they don’t get either, how can Orlando shake this team up? You got Lewis and Nelson maxed out as players, Vince on the decline, SOOO much money thrown into your bench.
Is thier some potential for Howard leaving Orlando in a couple seasons?

IndianaBasketballParticipantI don’t know if he will, but he should leave Orlando and sign with OKC.

DowJonezBFGParticipantLogically yep, realisticly nope. I hate Orlandos system because it doesnt utilizile Dwight Howard the best way he can be utilized. The live or die by the 3 thing? that doesnt work in the playoffs. Giving Rashard Lewis a max contract with a no-trade clause, RETARDED. he’s 6’10 and shoots 3s all day, doesnt post enough, cant dribble a ball, cant create on his own, doesnt rebound the ball enough and he gets paid superstar figures to average 12 points? C’MON SON. What sucks is thatr he’s a loyal guy and off the court a place like Orlando is awesome. They will NEVER be able to pry players like Melo and CP3 away from their respective teams because they don’t really have much to offer via trade. I think Orlando has hit their ceiling as a team and their only bet is Howard because he hasnt reached his ceiling as a player yet.

jaysmith1987ParticipantHis best chance to win is wirh orlando they have talent just not right scheme. Phil jackaon wins championships wit this kind of team so does larry brown so it might take coach change but his best chancw is with orLando because celtics are on last wheels and there better overall talent than maiami.

DowJonezBFGParticipant@KidKyrie Yea he did post in Seattle when he had to. I understand Orlando signed a player that was constantly improving at the time he was signed but its like he got the money and became comfortable, i thought he would be a great 2nd option player but it seems like he settled as a role player

Da1potParticipantThis reminds me of the Lebron situation in Cleveland as far as the personnel that the Magic have in comparison to the Cavs. The incredibly overpaid pf( Varejao and Rashard Lewis), the overrated shoot- first point guard(nelson and williams), the aging star( Jamison and Vince Carter). If I were Dwight Howard I would leave, because the Magic have mishandled their funds so poorly in my opinion. Trading for Gilbert Arenas would not add a new element to the team by any means, they don’t need another player to take more shots than Dwight Howard- just at a much lower percentage. If he went to Oklahoma City they would be a great team, probably the best in the entire NBA. Name one thing Jameer Nelson and Rashard Lewis can do that Russel Westbrook and Kevin Durant can’t do?

ItsVictorOladipoParticipantNOOOO! He can’t leave.
Some of the personnel moves that have been made are puzzling to say the least though. Giving JJ reddick such a big contract when he is a defensive liability. Giving Gortat a huge contract when he barely sees the floor (they don’t utilize him and Howard together as much as they should), not giving Bass the starting job at PF and benching Pietrus for long stretches of games when he is our best perimeter defender and has been a clutch shooter in the past as well.

Meditated StatesParticipantHe must play with a great passing PG to help his game and take pressure off him. He would look good playing with Rondo. Sh!t Shaq looks even better than recent years playing with Rondo. He needs more defensive minded players around him to take pressure off him. He could use guys who can get to the hoop off the dribble so the D collapses so he can clean the O glass. He would be better served to play with a good passing PF who can also finish good too. Better defenders who don’t get beat off the dribble would help him to not pick up fouls as often too.

PlatypusParticipantPlaces he should go If he leaves which i dont think he will
1. OKC, (Westbrook and Durant)
2. Nohla (Chris Paul and Ariza)
3. Celtics (Rondo and cap space from KG and Ray Allen)
4. Toronto, i’ll explain this one better, they have Derozen, they will have a high pick this year and prob next yr, and they have Bargnani who would be a great fit with D12

BKKnicksfanParticipantAll these people who keep saying: I don’t think he will
Provide me why? I said all summer and season before LeBron was gone if they don’t win the title. Explain why Howard (who’s in the same exact position) wouldn’t leave?
I agree OKC is probably his best spot but I’m think if the Suns can somehow move on from this Nash era by moving him and getting pieces back…could be a great fit.

OKC would be sick with him, they would have all the pieces for a dynasty.

1.Before the season started everyone was saying Durant was the best player in the league..Now People are saying he’s not the most important player on his team..
2.Folk were saying Harrison Barnes was the 2nd coming of Kobe..Now he’s a BUST!!
3.Early in the season folks were saying the Knicks were garbage and Amare wasnt going to be any good without Nash…
4.When the Heat were losing everyone was saying either Lebron ,Wade or Bosh should be traded..
5.The Hornets start the season winning 8 straight and looked like they’ll challenge the Lakers in the West ..CP3 wouldnt think of leaving ..Now that the Hornets are playing inconsistent those trade talks have started up again…
6.Now with the Magic on a losing Streak, they’re saying Dwight wants out of Orlando….

Nelson might not be a great playmaker ,but his outside shooting compliment Howard’s inside game..But Nelson does nothing for any other Magic player…

sheltwon3ParticipantI have been saying for years that Nelson as good as he has become is not the right fit for them at point guard. Orlando still don’t get a lot of easy looks for Dwight and also other player don’t get a lot of easy looks unless they are 3’s after a defensive collaspe. I sometimes imagine Dwight with a stronger playmaking point guard and it would be bonkers.

PlatypusParticipantthink about it, Bargani is the perfect powerforward next to D12 and they will have high picks for the next 2 yrs, could be a small forward this yr and Kyrie Irving next yr
potential line up with howard
Irving – Calderon
Derozen – Weems
High Pick this yr – Klezia
Barg – Amir – Davis
D12 – Davis – Alabi

sheltwon3ParticipantI dont know why Amare could not play with Howard seeing that Amare likes to work in the High Post and is a pretty good passer for someone his size and abilities. They could actually be the perfect front court because Howard plays D and rebounds and Amare scores. Howard can score too but still in Mike D’s offense, Howard would still get his normal averages and be more of the focal point on defense and not offense.
