This is a tough loss for a couple reasons. He was their only true PG with any NCAA experience, which leaves freshmen Marcus Smart(a natural 2) and Phil Forte at that position. He is also the second rotation guy they lost this summer. Starting Center Phil Jurick was dismissed earlier.

I think he can indeed play 1 for them. He actually led the U19 team in assists and while he is projected as a two at the next level, the odds are he would be handling the ball quite a bit as a frosh. Smart played HS ball with Phil Forte, who is a lights out shooter and solid player. Not sure he will play much, but might have to now that Guerrero is gone. Either way, while he is different from Guerrero, Forte was kind of an off the radar type who could at least stretch the floor.

Keiton Page was "PG" for them last season, just know that Markel Brown led the team in assists and he is back. They will have some issues moving the ball, like they had last season, just feel that Marcus Smart is up for the challenge and while not having Cezar puts more on his plate, odds are he was going to be getting major minutes at lead guard regardless. He shot 35% from the field and his assist to turnover ratio left a lot to be desired.

Cezar really had a tough freshman year, kind of expected more. Really hope that he does well at his next school and send out my best. Just do not feel this will make Oklahoma State all that much worse in the scheme of things. As long as Marcus Smart is healthy, they should be a better team than last season, just feel this kid is a fantastic pick-up for the Cowboys. Along with a team with a lot of returning contributors who are sure to have improved, I expect the Cowboys to be a possible bubble team, at the very least better than last season.

Markel Brown did lead the team in assists but only averaged 2.4. Im not too worried of him supplanting Smart and Forte.
