OKC at Miami
Huge game tonight. At the beginning of the season, Lebron was having the best season in NBA history, Miami was dominating and it looked like the title returning to South Beah was a given. Now, Wade has been injured, Lebron has dropped off and Durant and Westbrook have been dominating. Who has the edge right now?
Is Wade playing? If not, then not that huge of a game.
If the Thunder defeat Miami, Lebron James will automatically lose the MVP to Kevin Durant for sure.
lebron vs durant is imo the best matchup 1vs1 in the nba. heat vs okc are likely final teams, best game of the year imo.
I haven't watched the game, but the box score says LeBron is winning.
Lebron bussin that ass, and just hit a buzzer beater to put the heat up 2 at half, 23 pts already.
I'm calling it whoever wins this games gets the MVP.
Come on Thunder beat these Buffoons !!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Please, the guy was banged up when the OKC played against him. Now he's feeling better and is currently winning the battle between him and durant.
Im loving that lebron is playing how he should play, which is come out the game aggresive and then pass. Hopefully he'll reach 40 tonight. Kd is a pure scorer damn, this dude has a quiet 15 points.
Durant is becoming hard to guard, it was bound to happen. And Westbrook is hard to guard as well. You can't hope to stop Durant or Lebron, you just hope to alter their shots. And physical defense is the best way to handle this.
Miami Heat fans are annoying and stupid. Hahahah. Now I will get more negs from them. Hahahah
All these commercials are making this game feel really boring....
I don't think okc can win a title with Westbrook playing this way...he is too much of a chucker, he never sets the table for durante, there are too many position where he or harden don't even touch the ball
big 3's by Battier. Would love to have this guy on my team. Great defender, team player and a winner.
This game definitely has a playoff feel to it...
This game definitely has a playoff feel to it...
This game is intense. Shane Battier is affecting Westbrook with his size.
Looks like Lebron won the MVP.
This difference between this game and last game for OKC?
Perkins 16 points on 8-11
Ibaka 19 points on 8-10
Perkins 2 points on 1-3
Ibaka 4 points on 2-6
Westbrook 26 shots and 2 assists... Durant 9 turnovers.
Really like OKC though... As soon as they learn to play hungry, without being wild, the league is in trouble.
This has nothing to do with the game. But is it me or does Bosh have a super long neck compared to everyone ?
Looking at the box scores, LeBron had a huge game, wanting to send a message to the Thunder and the MVP voters.
For OKC, outside of Durant and Westbrook and Harden somewhat they didn't get a whole lot of scoring. They need their
other guys to score. They really need a fourth scorer.
Someone here commented on how Shane Battier was covering Westbrook. If so, then he is a guy who can give the OKC duo fits with
his defense and 3 point shooting. He's a real asset that should help the Heat in the playoffs just as he was instrumental in the Grizzlies'
run last year. He also knows the Thunder well having played major minutes during the epic Grizz-Thunder second round matchup.
Lebron took a beating today. slapped by KD and Westbrook threw him on the ground.
It was a hard fought game playoff atmosphere. So hard fouls will happen on both sides. Do you consider the playoffs a bloodbath ?
Good game today, OKC played terribly sloppy but still had a shot, didn't like the shot selection by Durant on that last three but he can sink it. I want to see Durant on more isos, he always got a good look off of those drives. Miami did a much better job at defending the paint, but considering that Westbrook went 9-26, Durant had 9 turnovers, and that this was in Mami, and that the bigs didn't help much, OKC is looking pretty good to me. Miami has to feel good about this win, but it took 9 turnovers and an uncharacteristic bad shooting night plus some clutch threes by Battier and Chalmers, they have to change somthin
Those were forced turnovers. Miami is a defensive team. You can also say that when they beat the heat, Ibaka and Perkins have scored uncharateristically. The bad shooting night was also due to defense.
Turnovers aside, Durant's playmaking has come a long way, he made some really nice no-look passes in the paint but Ibaka and Perkins fumbled the majority of them. These would have been easy looks which became turnovers. Unfortunately for the Thunder they just missed a LOT of easy looks at the basket, especially in the 4th.
I'd say Durant held his own against Lebron, on one of his turnovers where Lebron stole it Durant chased him down and blocked it from behind, serving Lebron a taste of his own medicine. Shane Battier saved this game for Miami though, OKC was getting some momentum in the 4th and Battier dropped back to back 3s to extend the lead and give them breathing room.
I will say that this was a REALLY enjoyable game, and Miami vs OKC would be a dream Finals matchup, would be great if Durant won his first title before Lebron, against Lebron! Am I the only one who thinks Durant could be rated ahead of Lebron on the all-time list by the time they are both retired? Lebron has an obvious physical advantage in strength, but Durant's length is monstrous and his J is already so smooth, if he continues to make passes like we say tonight on a regular basis I can see him being ranked in the top-3 SFs all time when it's all said and done.
MVP like game for Lebron. Controlled the game late, sure, he missed the shot that would have sealed it, but he really really shut Durant down on those late possessions.
Oh yeah, he also threw up a casual 34/10/7
A dream finals for sure.
If they both make it all the way im taking OKC in 7.
The Thunder have a lot of talent, but I just don't believe in them in the playoffs. They certainly have a chance to get out of the West, but I am not completely convinced they are the team to beat. Durant is awesome, but if either he or Westbrook have off nights they are basically up a creek without a paddle.
I agree with what mouchy18 said. Can the Thunder win it all with Westbrook playing like this? There is nothing wrong with having a scoring point guard but even Deron Williams would know when to pass it up and he is probably the best scoring point guard in the NBA. I love Westbrooks game but until he realizes that he is a point guard and has Kevin Durant on his team I don't see them winning it all. It's like he tries to prove himself too much.
I think they can because they can have Harden doing some playmaking at the 2 and Durant has got better year by year at finding the open man. I also think Westbrook is good enough to get good shots on nearly anyone or get to the line picking his shots more timely than people give him credit for + their chemistry as an overall team is better than Miami's. Maybe im in the minority though...
If Westbrook had 9 turnovers last night guys would be having a field day bashing him.
I agree with you. I'm not bashing Westbrook. Like I said I love his game. I just think when you have an option like Durant or even Harden you don't need to shoot as much. Rose hardly has anybody on his team compared to what Westbrook has. And Williams is averaging a career high in points because he has to. I think if you switched Rose and Williams with Westbrook they wouldn't score as much as they do now with their respective teams. We are only left to wonder though. I love Westbrooks aggresiveness but I think he should drive and dish more so than drive and dunk. But it does seem like it's working for the Thunder so we shall see
It's most definitely working more this year than last.
So you got Miami in a 7 game series??
To be honest man, it's up in the air. I like the Thunder and want them to win, but I think experience will come to play. Wade and Lebron have been to 3 finals now. But Perk and D Fish have been to the promise land and wont. I still think I would pick Miami. It's all or nothing this year. If they don't win this year they gonna blow that team up lol
A Lil English, I would take Miami in 6 over the Thunder.
