WolfRobParticipantAnyone watching this game? The officiating is disgusting. It’s sad to see how soft basketball has became. Watch a 70s or 80s NBA playoff game, and compare it what we see on the floor today. Touch fouls are become intentionals or flagarants that have a definitive impact on the game.
That’s what I’m seeing in the Ok State game right now. LeBryan Nash got his fifth foul, an "intentional" for slightly grabbing at Kyle Dranginis (#3). Dranginis failed into the air and "drew" the intentional. Two free throws, and the ball, and Nash to the bench.
Two plays later, Smart has Dranginis boxed out and is in position to get the O board. Dranginis grabs smart from behind and when Smart tries to raise his arms, they call a foul on him, after the jumper already goes through the net… .What a joke.
The game is just so soft in general.
On a side not, I love Smart’s style… He’s just a freaking competitor and he leaves it all out there. I can sympathize with his frustrations over officiating and all the crap he’s had to deal with.
We need to amend the officiating rules. These "intentionals" can’t impact the game.

Chilbert arenasParticipantAgree that this has been the worst officiated game of the tournament so far and these refs need to be suspended for the next round, but doesn’t make up for Oklahoma States disappointing season. Smart’s stat line is very solid but they needed more

For_Never_EverParticipantNash brought it on himself getting into foul trouble right off the bat. I wouldn’t have had a problem with the last foul being called or not, but he has four fouls and attempts to slow down the break by putting his hand on his man. It was slight still a foul though.

tomdukes69ParticipantI had to raise my eyebrows at some of the calls. The T Ford tech was weak. He was standing on baseline talking to one ref and the ref at top of key called it. M Smart called for a foul on his follow thru while being held. That intentional foul was extra weak. Players hold all game and that was for just a split sec. Ok St paid today for M Smart incident and their reputation for being “thuggish” – not my word but analysts and fans. Just saying guys. It seemed obvious to me. UK, Men, Baylor,Tenn…etc… y’all better be careful going forward.

Mr. HookShotParticipantLet these young guys play the game: fouls like Smart’s under basket (at the end of the game) are ridiculous, that is just two guys competing for the ball with one being outworked by the other. Calling as much fouls as during this game completely destroys the game, the atmosphere in the hall and is definitely no positive publicity for NCAA basketball
