Just saw this on twitter, they took him to LA and found out that’s it’s a meniscus trear, this is heartbreaking for me as a fan of the game, I really don’t want to see a potentially legendary career get marred by injuries, he will be ready by the season according to an article, but you have to be concerned about knee injuries with a guy that missed a whole season due to them earlier in his career. I hope he develops an under the rim game and is able to have a healthy career. I’d rather have a 18 and 9 healthy Blake than a 24 and 12 Blake that is constantly bothered by injuries and ends his prime prematurely.

I really hope he recovers quickly from this, this kind of an injury can be career ending. As a sports fan I really hope he can continue to play after this whole ordeal is over at 100%. Best of luck to you Blake…

      Stop it. A torn meniscus isn’t career-ending.

Everyone told him for the longest they wanna see more karl malone and less shawn kemp. He needs to learn to do more layup instead of always  trying to make the espn highlight play

Good thing he signed that extension!

But seriously, a meniscus tear is one of the least severe knee injuries you can get. It’s only a problem if you keep on tearing over and over again a la B Roy, where a slow deterioration starts, or totally imcompetent in your rehab a la Gil Arenas. He’ll be fine.

How stupid should Blake Griffin and the Clippers feel? This is the same knee he sprain during the playoffs. His knee obviously wasn’t strong enough.

I don’t get why he just didn’t sit this out and prepare for next season.

And an athlete like Griffin tearing his meniscus is a big deal. He needs all of the cushion possible considering the way he plays. The amount of force and pounding his knees takes isn’t the norm.

He probably hurt his knee by flopping. 🙂

You guys might want to see more Karl Malone but I want to see the power highlight dunks.  That is like 80% of his appeal.  He is a great player but he is known for his ridiculous dunking and I dont want to see him stop that.

Yeah even though I don’t like him, I can’t lie he’s probably the most exciting player in the league.

I guess Anthony Davis is in now. He looked good in garbage minutes against the Dominican Republic.
I was the first to get on the Anthony Davis making the Olympics bandwagon. Even before Bill Simmons did.

I hope Blake Griffin gets better but this might be a recurring issue over his career. Knee problems and concussions won’t be good.
He could end up like Antonio McDyess.

I think Anthony Davis will be fine, but we need Blake for 2016 if we still send NBA players then. I would think that Blake, Davis,
Kevin Love, and perhaps Andrew Bynum and Demarcus Cousins will be our bigs then if Dwight Howard doesn’t play. Tyson Chandler
won’t be there and I think Bosh might not play either. I wouldn’t be surprised if this is Carmelo’s last Olympics too. 2012 is his third Olympics.

Blake is one of the league’s rising stars and a key player on the West Coast. Hopefully he can return to form.

He’s had numberous " Knee " Injuries already and has only played ONE full NBA season since entering the league smh I think Blake should just focus on being the man for the Clips right now cause LA can’t afford to lose him (5yrs, $94 Mil) and isn’t it ironic how 2kSports/NBA2k franchise is becoming a lot like the new EA/Madden franchise? From recycled gameplay, half-assed production efforts from the company since EA hasn’t produced a BBall title in years, cover athletes getting hurt, taking things that were already in the game out and making consumers pay for them again, to silly gimmicks every year… I can’t imagine the type of game we’ll see this year but I’m not expecting anything groundbreaking. Same graphics, lackluster commentary, foolish AI, and absolutely NO DEFENSE…all for $59.99 lol

Even if Blake needs to sit out the entire 2012-2013 season essentially ending the Clips hopes at a deep playoff run the Clips have to do it, you give Blake that kind of extension you have to think about the future because the fact is if he doesn’t rehab right even if he loses an ounce of athleticism that will be incredibly detrimental to his effectiveness as a player. 90% of what Blake does is based on athleticism even down to his hustle plays. He hasn’t developed the skill yet to adjust his game if his athleticism is limited like Amare did post knee injury. They had better watch this close as minor as it seems as you don’t want Blake’s contract becomming a financial burden on you. Say he comes back early and again injures his knee and sits out the year, you’d have to think that it would have pull on CP3’s deciscion to stay in LA or not.

this injury is not that severe as for itself, but it’s very worry Blake being injury prone, does he could become durable in the future?

Hopefully when Blake goes in for surgery they don’t run into anything unexpected. For him to only miss 8 weeks with this sort of injury is the best news they could hope for.
