Actually, Perry isn't doing

Actually, Perry isn't doing very well at all. He just got stopped twice in a row by Terrance Jones, including an air balled hook shot, and then on defense he got bulled over by Royce White.

Draymond Green

He lost some weight. Good for him. I like his intagibles. He's a mature player and brings some much versatility to his game

Terrence Jones

From my observation he's a physical specimen.

Terrence Jones reminds me of

Terrence Jones reminds me of Thad Young but stronger. I think he could be a steal anywhere outside of the lottery.

I think Jones is a better prospect than Thad Young was

I think Terrence Jones is a poor man's Lebron at best, and he could be a Jamal Mashburn / Larry Johnson type too, he's got some great tools and he can get a lot better with NBA coaching, he's one of the most NBA ready from a physical stand point and I see no reason why a lottery team wouldn't pick him

Its funny both T Jones and R

Its funny both T Jones and R White are considered 4/3 or 3/4s but they are the most physical of the 4s working out at the combine. I havent been high on either but just seeming there size compared to P3, D Green and Nicholson has me changing my mind a bit. Both will definet 4s not 3s in the nba.

I have addressed this before,

I have addressed this before, but I just hate how all these guys sit out the first day of drills and come on the 2nd day. The problem I have with it is I know the guys want to play, its the fricken agents that sit them out, but then they are still on deck for interviews...and they are NEVER prepared to give a solid answer as to why they arent out there! I mean come on! If the agent is so smart to make you sit out at least he can have a solid statement pre-written for you when you know thats the first question they will ask. Instead, they are making excuses as to why their agents put them into that position. Jeremy Lamb didnt even know what to say. I remember John Wall was the same way.

^You're 100% right Surve, all the guys, when asked, said it was their agents who didn't think it was a good idea.

well, it is their agents.

well, it is their agents. these guys really want to play. when I was younger and played in high school, I just couldnt wait to get on the floor and play...during try-outs, practice, etc... I just wanted to play because I loved to play but also, I wanted to show what I could do, especially if it was prove people wrong. I dont believe that any of these guys didnt want to be out there. I really have a problem with showing up for half of the combine. Brad Beal said he didnt participate because he didnt want to risk anything but will be ready tomorrow. If you dont want to risk anything, why show up at all? I say either you do both days or dont do any if you feel it is any sort of risk.

also, I saw some old faces in the crowd. David Henderson, former co-captain on Duke's team that reached the championship game (Lost to Louisville). Ed Pinckney, one of the stars of Villanova's championship team that upset Georgetown and Patrick Ewing.

This is one reason why you

This is one reason why you have agents. These are business decisions not decisions that should be made just because you love basketball. Fans may not like it and GMs may not like it but it's a pretty smart decision if there is nothing at all to gain from doing it.

tell u guys another thing...

you can say what you want but these commentators have been reading on this site and others like it. this is the only place I have heard of the Barnes/Sean Elliott comparison until Fraschilla said it today. there were other comparisons as well. I think we were the first to bring up a lot of these comparisons.

NBADRAFT.NET, where comparisons happen.

Harrison Barnes was really

Harrison Barnes was really close to hitting the 12' mark on the max vert. Maybe 11'7'' or 11'8''

Taylor is a really impressive athlete.

Man, Meyers Leonard has

Man, Meyers Leonard has bulked up since the end of the season. His shoulders and upper body is noticably bigger. He must be on the Dwight Howard workout plan because his deltoids look like they've doubled in size doubled since the college season.

Drummond apparently compared

Drummond apparently compared himself to Kevin Durant, lol

Hassan Whiteside slipped into the 2nd round because he wanted to be a perimeter player, when his obvious strengths were blocking shots and rebounding.

I know, I started laughing

I know, I started laughing sitting while I was sitting on my couch. He's going to get benched so fast if he tries to be a face up player in the league. I bet Kevin Durant was a 32% FT shooter when he was 5.

There are some long, athletic centers this year.

I wouldn't be surprise if Drummond, Plumlee, Melo, Leonard and Ezeli all hit 12' or damn close on the max reach.

Glad to see others like tomas

Glad to see others like tomas satoransky too coming after in at close to 6'8" with shoes while having combo guard skills should make him a 2nd round lock but I have no idea what his contract situation is but I have heard he loves the NBA style of play and wants to play as soon as possible.

I feel bad for him just I do

I feel bad for him just I do for Royce White.. Once has anxiety while on air plains and the other has anxiety when in front of cameras..

Both situations make life hard for an NBA player.

"Celtics and Spurs interviewed Drummond??? Could they try to make a play for him?"

Could you imagine how good he would be after sitting behind Garnett or Duncan for a few years? I hate both of those teams, but those would probably be the 2 best places for him to reach his potential.

@Y2G I agree that he would be

@Y2G

I agree that he would be much better if he went to one of those teams. I wonder if either team has enough pieces to move up to get him??

Celtics could send someone both of their first round picks this year, Avery Bradly, and maybe cash or something???

No clue what the Spurs could do unless they are willing to give up Dejuan Blair or Leonard and next years pick or something..

According to calculation from

According to calculation from pic Barnes vertical was like 43 inches(24+19). Thats pretty impressive for a guy the big claim he wasn't athletic enough to get to basket. The standing vertical is a measurement of explosivness is it not?

I'm sure that Barnes didn't

I'm sure that Barnes didn't put up a 43 inch STANDING vertical. Nobody jumps that high from a standing position. If Barnes did that with running jump it would be amazing but at least not unheard of.

ok lets say it was max vert

ok lets say it was max vert 43"(running) is still impressive. I was sent that link by a friend that who says math is correct either way I think after the combine watching the testing Barnes athletic ability has been shown to be completlely overblown.

@zachb

that Sean Elliott comparison has been on this board for MONTHS! not just a couple of weeks ago. People were saying that here in Feb or March.

I absolutely was not joking. Why is it unfathomable to think that they dont use all sources, resources, and pay attention to other assessments and opinions? They get paid the big bucks to do this, trust me....they read this site and others like it.

note: there was a boxing website that was in its infancy at the time, but came on the scene breaking a lot of stories. there was also several other websites that have very credible, source info. I know this from boxing....Dan Rafael and ESPN dont know chit. They just have the brand and the viewers/readers. Anyway, duing HBO boxing programming, Jim Lampley for one used to "break" stories or provide info without citing the source...as if they were the source. Well, that one website repeatedly blasted HBO about using their info and not citing them as a source. Shortly after it became a big deal on the web, HBO started citing their website and others as sources.

Not the same as the Sean Elliott comparison, but believe me.....more people read this site and obtain information from it that we realize. A lot of pertinent information comes from little guys like us and little sites like this.

@surve

It's a nice notion to think that NBA draft analysts are reading the forum, but I find it much more likely that they talk to scouts and GMs across the league. I doubt they're spending time wading through all the check out my mock threads to find the occassional useful piece of information.

not really saying they spend all their time here, but they have sons, friends, etc...that I guarantee read this forum. also you have friends of Barnes and other prospects that read this forum, when in their circles....chatter like this comes out.

trust me, Sean Elliott isnt a comparison that you pull out, even if you watched Elliott and Barnes play, which I did, and I see the similarities. I can say with confidence, that comparison made its way from the posts of this forum onto Chad Ford or whoever's scouting report, be it directly or indirectly.

Speaking of scouts, I know they have this site bookmarked. Part of scouting isnt just how good a player plays, but how it is perceived their reception from the fans will be. In the technology and social media age now, one would be a fool not to reach out to other mediums and still expect to be ahead of the pack in terms of information.

Some scouts compared Barnes

Some scouts compared Barnes to Sean before anyone on here posted it. I'm pretty sure they didn't get the idea from here. They are close in height and their games are not exact but similar in some ways so the comparisons were bound to come just like people who compare Perry Jones to Randolph,Odom etc

Ford Tweeted that Thomas

Ford Tweeted that Thomas Robinson had a 35.5'' max vert and that Damian Lillard had a 36'' standing and a 40'' max vert.

Those are the only two I've heard that leaked.

I'm impressed with his court vision, too. Unfortunately, his anxiety disorder might keep him from being a phenomenal player in the league.
