They dont have a single guy who can get them buckets in the clutch…Granted Lawson and Chandler have played well (Chandler has 32 tonight) but OKC was able to climb back in on the back of their 2 stars. Westbrook has played exceptionally well tonight – 35 points … Denver has a wide group of solid players but no 1 guy who they can go to when they are desperate… I would HATE to see denver lose this game, they’ve outplayed OKC the entire game..

….And yet everything you said in your original post, the nuggets dissproved. They were down 3 with a couple minutes to go, and they got 3 huge buckets from Miller and Chandlers (both getting to the rim) and Lawson in isolation. Meanwhile the Thunder isolated Durant 4 times and he only scored one of the times.

Russell Westbrook was lighting up the score board at the expense of the team. Watching the Thunder tonight, I’ve gotten the impression him and his teammates don’t like each other very much.

Lawson is the closest thing to being a true closer for them. It is true they don’t have a legit #1 option but their are only 6-8 guys in the NBA that you feel are true go to #1 options. That means at least 80% of the NBA teams are without a true #1 option. If the Nuggets could pick up a player in free agency like that they would take off as title contenders rather than be just a good pesky playoff team.

Charles Barkley was correct when he said this “Your best player/scorer can’t be 5’11 and you expect to win a championship”. The Nuggets are one of my favorite two teams to watch as well. And especially Lawson as a player for them!
