jhbm24ParticipantWhat if the hornets traded Eric Gordon for a top 5 pick this year? Sign and trade or something, because what if the hornets got davis, AND Drummond? Just a random thought of what could go down on draft night

rileymcshea3ParticipantOR what about for Portland?? get 2 lotto picks at 6 and 11 ?? Come out and draft #1 Anthony Davis,#6 Harrison Barnes,#10 Kendall Marshall,#11 Austin Rivers.
Pg-Kendall Marshall
Sg-Austin Rivers
Sf-Harrison Barnes
Pf-Anthony Davis
C-Emeka Okafor
Thats would be fresh but the better thing for the Hornets would be add Wes Mathews in that trade then trade the 6 and 11 to a top 5 team and get any one you like

jhbm24ParticipantI don’t think Portland would do it because they need a big to help LA out. But I see what you’re getting at. An Harrison barnes is going to the bobcats at 2 so he won’t be there. And if they got Drummond thy could even trade okefor o the blazers for one of their picks. That would be crazy too
If they could somehow get the 6th pick they could rebuild the whole team practically, just no PG
1. ???
2. 6th pick
3. Jones/ Aminu
4. Davis
5.Drummond/ kamen

ilmagoParticipantI don’t think Gordon is worth a top 5 pick considering all the injuries he had. You would have to pay big (big contract plus the pick) for a guy who’s not likely to give you consistency throughout the season. That would be a great trade for NO, imo, but I can’t see it happening unless the 10th pick gets in the deal

PulseGlazerParticipantIlmago is right. It’s a question of salary’s. Except MAYBE Portland, no crap team is ready to succeed now, so a young, cost-controlled player is of more value than a guy who will be paid. And Gordon would, as a restricted free agent, have to agree to a sign-and-trade, which makes absolutely no sense for him unless a majorly prefered destination opens up. With Davis and the ten pick, is there really another lottery team that’s way better than NO?
