I find it strange that last year the world rosters were available on the 11th of March, exactly a month before the game. This year with three weeks left before the game, there’s nothing available. Any reason for this?

Could this have something to do with them waiting for some teams to be eliminated in their leagues so that more players can be available? For example, when Anadolou Efes is eliminated from the Eurolegue, Furkan Korkmaz can readily accept the invitation.

Yeah I been keeping a close eye on roster updates…and nothing.

Its the only competitive showcase game…and the scrimmages are great.

All I know is that Harry Froling has an invite. Hes not the type to wow in these events and has gotten underwhelming feedback from the experts on this site…

He’s legit though and I’m sure he’ll be a rotation stretch 4 in the league.

Though, last year was abnormally early for them to announce the rosters. Think they were lucky that so many of the top players were international guys who were living in the US/Canada ([Player: Ben Simmons], [Player: Skal Labissiere], [Player: Jamal Murray], [Player: Cheick Diallo], [Player: Thon Maker]). Still, was looking back and in 2013 they waited until March 21, while 2012 waited until March 26. So, hopefully will be sometime next week.

This will be my fifth year going to all of the practices and the game. Plus will make seven of the last eight Hoop Summits I have gone too since its time in Portland (missed 2009). Love the event and I seem to remember a team when the World Roster was announced in February, guessing scheduling and trying to find the best talent possible is more difficult now? Not sure, but have high hopes for this year, when it looks like the US will have its best squad in a while.

So far, have heard invites have been accepted by [Player: Harry Froling], [Player: Andres Feliz] and [Player: Edin Atic]. Froling was MVP of the recent Basketball Without Borders camp held in Toronto during All-Star weekend, committed to SMU. Feliz is from Dominican Republic and led the 2015 U19 World Cup in scoring, plays at West Oaks Academy in Florida, committed to South Florida. Do not know much about Atic, but he was signed to AEK Athens and is apparently on loan to his old Bosnian club, Spars Sarajevo, and I guess was all-tournament at last years European U18’s.

Am hoping we get a really good group, a lot of bigs to choose from. Would love to see [Player: Isaiah Hartenstein] and [Player: DeAndre Ayton]. Also really hoping for [Player: Frank Ntilikina], heard from a lot of people he looked great at Basketball Without Borders, exciting PG prospect. [Player: TJ Leaf] is a domestic possibility as he played with Israel, as is [Player: Udoka Azubuike], who has been stateside for a long time. They have done a great job getting guys together, hoping we see a strong group this year and would love to know who as soon as possible.

It probably does not matter if players from Euroleague teams are on teams that might get eliminated from Euroleague. They won’t let them play.

Last year Charalampopulos and Papagiannis got invited to the game and Panathinaikos refused to release them because they were still on the active roster.

It’s pretty much only players in youth teams or farm teams that can play in the Hoops Summit.

Just as an example AEK (a Eurocup team) would only let Atic play since he’s on loan and playing in a very low level league and team.

Established young players like Korkmaz, Charalampopulos, Papagiannis, etc., – unfortunately have very little chance to be allowed to play at such an event.

Like I said, Euroleague teams are in no way allowing players to play at this.

So far at every stage of his development he has been better than Giannis was. That might not mean anything though.

For those unfamiliar with McDowell Whites game….think A classic Floor General in the Marcus Paige mould.

Could be a starting PG in the NBA, but more likely a backup.

Underrated by this site, but expecting Visenberg to report back to Draftnet suitably impressed with his decision making and IQ.
