Now that Minnesota is back at square one, where do they go for their next coach?  Rumors of Del Negro have crept up lately but it sounds like he interviewed over a week ago and hasn’t heard back yet.  Since there is radio silence on the next coach I’m wondering if that means their next choice is an assistant coach on one of the teams in the playoffs.  Nate McMillan is the only real name of those coaches but I have to admit that I’m not very familiar with many of the assistants.  It is always seen as a good move to take someone from the San Antonio family which could be a good sign for Del Negro.

As much as Karl seems like a logical candidate, he doesn’t like playing young players and if/when they trade Love they will probably have another rookie or two on the team.

I honestly cannot believe he is even getting a sniff at a head coaching gig.  He was a disaster in Chicago and I don’t think much better with the Clips.

I thought Fred Hoiberg would be a good fit, but not sure how much he loves Iowa State and/or if he is holding out for a better coaching spot than Minny in the NBA.  I know the Bulls like him if somehow Thibs departed Chicago.

Every Wolves fan knows that this "search" is one of the most incompetent processes this franchise has ever faced- and that’s saying something. This has been totally half assed and weak, and the suspicion is that Flip just wants to make it look like he’s donedue diligence before deciding "yep, I’m gonna coach". The fact that Karl, who would probably be the best hire they’ve ever made, hasn’t even been interviewed yet, while crap candidates like Skiles, VDN, Mitchell are serious contenders, reeks of Flip purposely making himself look like the best candidate for the job. Being a Wolves fan isn’t easy.
