Lotto StudParticipantNow that the Melo drama is officially over, what do you expect from the Knicks since the future is bright in the Garden?
- 1 thing I would love to see is Corey Brewer bringing out his retro Knick Penny Hardaway shoes from his Florida days.
- Melo wear a # that will shock us all
- Starting 5 of Billups, Fields, Anthony, Williams, Stoudemire
- Bill Walker get burn
- Rivalry matchup with Miami in the Eastern Conference Finals

STATnMeloParticipant- They win their 1st game so critics dont go all crazy
- They get a defensive Center now…..right now
- Carmelo chooses a number to define his new identity like #0
- The Knicks have a rotation of Billups-Fields-Anthony-Stoudemire-New Defensive Center(Camby or Lopez) and a bench of Douglas-Williams-Brewer-Turiaf
- Last but not least they get the 5 seed maybe 4 and have a good showing in the playoffs
- Also they get some youth now and develop them within the organization…..you have your Cornerstones now place guys that fit….defensive big……PG of the future(Kemba Walker anybody)……

Lotto StudParticipantCome on Brewer, I’m sure it would not be a problem unless it violates your Nike deal.

Michael.S.ParticipantThey are a notch or two below Miami, Boston, Orlando, and probably Chicago. They will give some teams problems for the simple reason that they have Melo and Stat on the same team, but they are far too incomplete a basketball team to be anywhere near championship level.

sheltwon3ParticipantJammin, people said the same thing about Miami and even though they are not a complete team and lack size, they are close to being the number team this year and with Boston’s decline can be a lock to do it next year as well. New York’s future is brighter than Orlando’s and Boston. If Boston does not win one in the next to years, they are done. I think next year New York is a 3rd or at worst 4th best team in the East. Also Mike D’s style is know to get 55 to 60 wins so it would not be surprising if they won the regular season in the East next year since they finally have enough pieces to be the Suns of the East.

Tar86ekParticipantDeandre Jordan anybody. see the latest clippers-knicks game. he is a beast, good body, long, fast and is still teachable.
we still have tradeable pieces like azabuike, walker, douglas, turiaf, rautins, mason jr.
If not Deandre Jordan then maybe we can go after Jordan Hill again. He would be good for the pick and roll. It has nothing to do with the name jordan by the way.
backup pt gaurd we should target are: Ramon sessions
Billups will be valuable during next years deadline. he is more experienced than felton.
The draft will also be interesting since we wont have a pick till 2013 and 2015.
draft possibilities: Brandon Knight, Lucas Noguiera, Tristan Thompson.

NYK2010ParticipantBillups-Fields-Anthony-Stoudemire-Turiaf
Douglas- Williams-Brewer-Turiaf
Carter-Rautins- Azubuike- Walker, Barron
Billups plays solid D, still has some game left and does give the team a pretty big backcourt now.
I hope D’antoni plays Bill Walker he can shoot the 3 and can get to the rim.
I would’ve like to have kept Mozgov because of his size but Dolan blinked first so we need a Center.
Still only 3 of these starters will be here in 2 years and of the bench players maybe only Douglas.
Whoever is running the team now they still a lot of moves left.
Actually the Knicks have a pick this year, its just that the Rockets have the right to swap which doesn’t seem like they will. Next years 1st round is top 5 protected so that pick is gone and so the 2014 pick.
One thing about the deal is now critics and fans can stop saying the Knicks don’t get big names.
Seems like whenever they have cap space or young players of value they acquire a big name.

KayjayParticipantI think the Knicks got an excellent deal. However, are you guys truly sure they will gel as fast as Miami did? Lets be honest here. We know Amare doesn’t pass well out of double teams, and neither him or Carmelo are great passers in general. Furthermore, usually once Carmelo gets the ball, it doesn’t come out of his hands. The difference between this team and Miami is obvious. Lebron obviously doesn’t move as well off the ball as Carmelo, but he’s a play maker and Carmelo is not. So I see Carmelo averages sky rocketing, where as everyone elses….
I’m just saying, how do you think that will make Amare feel? D-will or CP3 would be a nice add as well. But I don’t know, I wish the best for them to gel over. But this year, they won’t be able to touch the top four in the east. Those teams are built to win NOW.

sheltwon3ParticipantAmare has played with a ton of other talented players before. I dont get this whole he can’t play with Melo thing. Also neither is the point guard. Billups is and he is a vet and will regulate.

B-ball fanParticipantThe Knicks are in a completely different situation than the Heat. Carmelo isn’t at LeBron’s or Wade’s level, despite all the hype, neither is Amare, and Billups is not at Bosh’s level. They might be the fourth best team in the east, but they also might be the sixth best, at least for this season. I am guessing that the Knicks will lose in the first round as the sixth seed facing the Bulls. I doubt that they will make noise in the playoffs. In the future they could improve, but I have a really hard time seeing them be as good as the Heat, and I think that the Bulls are better set up for the future.

Lotto StudParticipantI don’t see Billups on the Knicks roster too long especially if they are lookng for a 3rd piece. I can see a future trade or buyout for Billups.
