Rising RookieParticipantHere is my Mock Draft. Please give me your ideas on it.
http://www.nbadraft.net/nba_mock_drafts/24355/editI believe the Nets should draft James Johnson out of Wake Forest because he can play the SF or the PF (some even say he can play the SG) which the Nets need a consistant SF. Johnson, listed at 6’9”, can fill that void with his 6’11” wingspan which is the cause of his great low post presence, along with his ability to shoot well and dunk with perfection.
But I have composed a trade that would help both teams involved: the Nets and the Raptors. The Nets would acquire Chris Bosh and Marcus Banks, and the Raptors would acquire Vince Carter, Yi JianLian, and Josh Boone. With Bosh, the Nets’ worries about getting an all-star caliber player in 2010 would die down while it would put the Raptors out of their worries about whether Bosh would leave that summer. He could also help lure LeBron in. With Banks, it gives the Nets their 3rd point guard they were looking for, plus it save the Nets $10 million in 2010 for whatever their plans are. The Raptors would be reunited with Carter. With Yi, he could quickly fill the void at PF they had with Bosh, plus he adds to their liking of international play (Calderon, Bargnani). Boone would just add to their size. The Nets may have to add some future draft picks to sweeten the deal. Also they should look to trade for rookie SG or C or sign one this summer, such as Mouhammed Sene, with the money from the expiring contracts of Hassell and Ager = about $5 million. Maybe they should look to get a 2009 2nd round pick for cash considerations.
So here would be my linup for next season:
PG: Harris (Backup: Banks)
SG: Dooling or New Guy (Rookie or Signee) (Backup: CDR)
SF: Johnson (Backup: Simmons)
PF: Bosh (Backup: Anderson)
C: Lopez (Backup: Rookie or Signee)0 - Posted on: Thu, 05/28/2009 - 6:34am #153760
c-dubeParticipantthe raps would never do that, there’s no way they’d want carter and yi and boone aren’t worth much…you’d have to include lopez at the very least and even then it probably wouldn’t work

borlackParticipantwhy would they do that…im from toronto and a big raps fan there is no way the they would take back carter. he is public enemy number one. if the raps were to ever make a trade involving bosh and the nets…it would have to include both harris and lopez…either wise they couldnt care less…theres nothing on the nets that is appealing to the raps for bosh…if the raps are making a deal for bosh it most certainly wont be to the nets, let alone someone in the same division

clipperfan559Participantis for a powerforward like zach randolph or maybe signing Charlie Villinueva, but most likely zach who is a 20/10 player.
carter back to the raptors is like brand back to the clippers. it’s never going to happen.

bobbybParticipantFirst things first, i believe Harris is an unrestricted free agent. Signing him is a must. Then they should draft Blair to add some toughness because they are very soft. That is why i think it will be almost impossible to trade JI because he is too soft and cant finish or grab tough rebounds. Otherwise they are pretty good i dont think they should make major moves unless they are no brainers coming their way. Absolutly NO Z-BO , he is the biggest example of with big number that are meaningless. Villanueva is good but spends too much time at the 3 point line, Nets need rebounding.

QHaynes123If you want to make a trade…you gotta know who is untouchable
Harris and Lopez…now you make a deal
Carter, Boone and Dooling to Hou for McGrady and Scola
-This deal gives you a expiring contract. Whatever T-mac gives you on the court is a plus.12th overall pick, S.Wiliams and Carter to NJ for Thomas, 16 and 26th overall picks
This gives you a couple of picks to play with. Chicago gets VC who gives you 20ppg and Williams for insideTry to sign Aaron Gray, Marvin Williams, Kyle Korver and Boozer
-all these guys can contribute.Draft
16th pick- SG Terrence Williams
26th pick-Gani LawalRoster
PG-Harris
SG-Williams
SF-McGrady
PF-Thomas
C-Lopez0 - Posted on: Thu, 05/28/2009 - 1:15pm #153880
Rising RookieParticipantThe idea of these trades, I believe, would be great. McGrady gives them terrific scoring with playoff experience, when healthy, plus an expiring contract. Louis Scola adds to the stockpile of PF, while so would Tyrus Thomas. Except Thomas would give us an athletic PF who can shoot, rebound, and be aggressive the entire game.
The only thing I disagree with are the draft choices you would make. Granted these two are phenominal athletes, they don’t really fit the Nets system. First they should fill a void they with these trades, like PG or C. Guys in the range of the 16th pick would be BJ Mullens, DeJuan Blair, Ty Lawson, Chase Budinger. Then with the 26th pick they should go with a SF, such as Omri Casspi, DaJuan Summers, Austin Daye, Sam Young, or Damion James.Lineup:
PG: Harris
SG: McGrady
SF: 26th pick
PF: Thomas
C:Lopez0 - Posted on: Thu, 05/28/2009 - 4:11pm #153941
bobbybParticipantPg- Harris
SG- Dooling
SF- VC
PF-Blair( if available)
C – Lopez
Bench, CDR,Boone,JI, Najara, Simmon/hayes( i think they had one more year, they are basically the same player), Sean Williams i would just buy out his contract he was a waste. The nets have to stop drafting criminals( Marcus and Sean Williams) Good thing they did an A+ job of drafting last year. I think it would be a BAD idea to dump VC , he is not the same but still very good and effective. He gets to the basket with ease, has great long range, can defend multiple positions. There is no equal VALUE out there that would be willing to trade. AT least no yet0 - Posted on: Mon, 06/22/2009 - 9:16pm #170766
