    http://ca.sports.yahoo.com/highschool/blog/prep_rally/post/Amazing-360-dunk-makes-8th-grader-Canada-s-great?urn=highschool-318705

Article found on Yahoo, but apparently this kid is a killer prospect. He is 14, in the 8th grade and will apparently be going to prep school in the States for HS. In fact, he is supposed to be AAU teammates with Andrew Wiggins, and they may indeed both go to Christian Faith Center Academy in NC. The team is coached by their AAU coach Ro Russell. Well, apparently young Jamar has already won a dunk contest against HS players and sports a 39 inch vert. He does a pretty rad 360 in the vid with the article. I will post the dunk contest vid of him as well. Another prospect that will make Matt Bonner really hopeful.

At this point he is a completly raw athlete. Although he isnt your typical raw athlete as you can see from that video, no growth sourt, no and hes only 14 so he has never really been able to workout specifically on his body because he doesnt even have his body yet lol. Hes going to play at Christian Faith next year and make a name for himself in the North Carolina area.

Not a freak like Wiggins. Theres a monster in the making.

I tend to not get as riled up over these run and jump guys as others. Its like the least important thing as far as translating to the pros. For every Blake Griffin, theres 5 Gerald Green’s and James Wright’s.

Im old school though, give me a kid that D’s up, can pass and shoot, those are the kind of prospects I get excited about.

Heres a guy you will probally like. He will most likely be going to Oregon if not hes likely going to the Pac-10.  Amir Garrett a man with an acceptional verticle leap as shown n ths video.

Canesboy, he is just 14, lord knows anything else about him, just saw the article and posted it. Looks like an interesting prospect, who knows if he will be anything close to Wiggins, who has incredible genes and an advanced game for his age. Still, thought the 360 was tight. Hopefully he learns the fundamentals, was semi-impressed with his shooting form, certainly not as low a release as AW.

OhCanada, Amir is going to St. John’s. I really wanted him to go to Oregon, would have made a really nice wing for us, really like him as a prospect. By the way, check out my McD’s All-American thing and I am sure you will be happy, I will post what Dave Telep said about the snubs. While I am not adamant about Findlay deserving two, as I believe there are probably better HS teams out there, they have a ton of talent, and I think Nick Johnson would have been great to have in the game. Do not forget though, before Jabari left Findlay last year, he was doing his thing and I think might have been right in between Corey Joseph and Tristan Thompson in scoring. No love for the Pac-10 though, but I agree with Telep that not making the game is not the end of the world. Hopefully they both make Jordan Brand, but I am sure they both are pretty bummed they did not make it, they had great summers and very solid years in HS.

Ya my comment wasn’t that he sucks or wont be good. Who knows, they didnt show any game footage.

Its just that these jump and dunk videos dont mean a whole lot either way. Dequan Jones is probably a top 5 athlete in college hoops and cant get off the bench, as a Junior, on a bad team. Rodney Williams averages 6 points a game. Dwayne Polee isn’t doin much, CJ Leslie has been a dissapointment.

I’m not making the point that being a good jumper means you are going to suck, I’m just saying that guys who thats the best thing they have going for them are frequently not hte most productive or efficient players. For every cool putback or sick block, they probably miss 10 good opportunities elsewhere hunting down that big play. I know alot of guys I played with growin up that were big jumpers, never focused on the things that make you win because they were trying to line up an acrobatic play on both ends.

As much as I love Garrett and any Findlay Prep player he is not a All American imo and I think many players deserve the recognition before him. Nick Johnson is definitely an All American thou and I dont think this is bad for him at all. This maybe the best thing that could happen to Nick Johnson, and may just drive him to take his game to the next level, and become an absolute monster. I really dont see how anyone can justify snubbing him thou, he is one of the most exciting players in Highschool basketball and argueably the best scorer. Wierd.

14yrs old is too young to carry any hype. Anything could happen, he might stop growing taller. I remember when ESPN did an Outside the Line report on Derrick Character when he was 13yrs old. He was 6’7 260lbs and everyone labeled him as the next Shaq, until he stopped growing and was stuck at 6’8.
