Would you guys watch an NBA U21 League?

Rules are the same as the NBA regarding revenue splitting with players and salary caps?

Seems like the NCAA is ripe for the taking.

Say…a 3 month season during the NBA Off Season.

If you dont like the idea..please tell me why.

Would it make enough money to attract the best players from joining the NCAA?

A 3 month league instead of getting a college education straight out of highschool? I don’t think it would be appealing. If you could rejig into a full blown minor league farm system like what MLB has, then I would be all for it. But you’d really need to be offering yearly competition and training/development for these kids if you want them to be picking it over College.

I agree with the whole thing. if it was a developmental league / farm system that allow kids to play top end competition, strength/skill development, good level of money, and still get some sort of education. I believe more fans would watch this league with top NBA draft picks, draft-stash players and high level players that’s fringe NBA players than college.

There’s already an NBA summer league. High school graduates should be able to play in NBA summer league if they’re not college bound. They should also be able to play in the D-league, I’m not sure if they can or not right now. Like, can Skal play in the D-league if he doesn’t qualify academically, or is he too young?

They have the dleague, players should be able to go to the NBA right from high school. That way they can work on basketball year round with good coaches. In soccer the best players in america go pro right out of high school because it is hard to compete with people in Europe who focus on soccer for 6 to 8 hours a day 11 months out of the year. The NCAA doesn’t allow players to have more than 20 hours of time a week with coaches and they have classes. The NBA should try to come up with some kind a youth system or young player development system for players who graduated high school. The European teams have youth academies to develop players, which is a lot better than what AAU and high school basketball offer interms of quality basketball coaching
