the nba is rigged
I agree with you man and that would explain how a Lakers team is struggling with a Houston team that is missing its top stars. It would also show about the missed call at the Denver Dallas game. The recession has the NBA more desperate and you can see it in how everything is more in the open than before. I mean before calls were suspect but it could go either way now it is so obvious that it is not even funny.
THAT MAY NOT BE A BAD THING TO BE HONEST BUT IF THAT WAS THE CASE THEN KNICKS WOULD NOT SUCK
even stern cant fix the knicks. he can only have the refs influence the game how he wants. the players have to make the plays. garnett to boston? gasol to lakers? both these trades were influenced by giving these low market teams extra money to trade there best players to the high market teams. gasol was the worst he was given up for free.
That's why he gives out those totally ridiculous fines when anybody even says "ref" in their sentence. He doesn't want people to look to far into those extremely questionable calls because one of the refs might squeal about Stern rigging the games.
Ive been saying this for a while....Im a Bulls fan and im still wondering how we got the number 1 pick last year lol Stern wanted the Bulls to land their hometown hero...Big time market, Good for Sterns Business. Rondo doesnt get a FINE or suspension because Stern wants a 7 game series so he gets more money in his pocket. If Rondo doesnt play in 1 of the those games...the Bulls would be playing the Magic right now. Kenyon Martin love taps the NBA's beloved Dirk and they land a 25 thousand dollar find on him...rediculous. The NBA is a business...Stern wants 7 game series and the teams the people want there. Boston, Cleveland, and LA. Its a joke. Home court advantage is becoming really bad also.
Washington Wizards are not going to win the lottery this year by the way...they already have Arenas/Jamison/Butler...Stern isnt going to let them get Griffin too. He either is going to let the Kings win it because they are the worst and the worst never wins the lottery OR the TWolves or Grizz will get it. Mayo and Griffin would be nasty. He wants every team to have a star imo.
If the NBA was rigged, then Boston would have gotten the #1 pick in the 2007 draft when they had the worst record, instead of having 3 teams (Portland, Seattle and Atlanta) leapfrog them. If the NBA were rigged then the two biggest stars in that draft would have gone to the East to make it a semi-competitive conference instead of landing in two West Coast markets. And if the NBA rigged the lottery than the Knicks would have won it since 1985.
I like the Lakers and New Orleans and I am not saying that things have not be called in their favor but it is obvious to any fan watching that there is no consistency in calls or fines. Refs make or break games and also you have the gambling factor. I think Houston has much heart but without Ming and McGrady, there is no way they should be killing the Lakers like they are but the thing is with Yao getting hurt it would be too easy to pick a winner unless there is manipulation involved. How many people do you think lost money betting on Lakers last night. Money makes this world go round. We are in a recession. NBA is about making money and the thing is there is no money sometimes in letting thing play out in real time because with that much money involved you can't afford things to not work in your favor.
What??? Houston is beating LA becasue their frontline is punking LA's frontline and Battier is making Kobe work for his points. The NBA refs are bad, but as Houston is proving if you got heart and play team basketball you can compete with anybody...
Game 5 between the Celtics and Magic. With less than a minute to go and the Celtics up by one, Rondo shoot a blatant airball as the shootclock expired and which Perkins caught in the air. Initially the refs called it a airball and they overturned it WITHOUT even looking at the reply.
The first round series with Chicago and the Celtics was also very suspicious. Someone mentioned this earlier, but Rondo threw Hinrich into the scorers table and smacked Miller in the head at the end of Game 6... should've been a flagrant.
Former Ref Tim Donahue may be guilty of gambling and manipulating games, but I somehow believe that the league and other officials are in on it too... the manipulation part. Stern denounces him because he is a felon and has "no credibility". Maybe Donahue is right. Stars get preferential treatment and big markets teams seemingly advance in the playoffs.
The series where the Heat beat Dallas was also bullsh!t several years ago. Horrible officiating and could've been manipulated.
I think the 2009 NBA playoffs have been the worse officiated year that I could remember. The flagrant foul issue is getting out of control.
NBA wants the Celtics to beat Orlando and the Lakers will beat the Rockets.
NBA wants Lebron to win a championship so he could become a Michael Jordan figure.....
Cleveland will beat Los Angeles in the finals.
The NBA is not rigged so what there was a bad call in the Denver game you can miss a call i know the Ref was right in front of them but. It's a playoff game in the final seconds your going to let that go. If Carmelo MISSED the three Dallas would still be happy because they won the game. So it goes to wins for Dallas and only one win for Denver and that was to make the three. And Dallas has to suck it up we all know Dallas is not what they used to be. The have to take it like a MAN and move on.
To billyk, no offense but right now the Lakers are playing worse than they have played in the regular season and we all know they will win. Why would a team like the Lakers prolong this series unless so else was going on/ You can also look at the Celtic Bulls series. Celtics Orlando series. There are just too many suspect situation to throw to human error. Also had the foul been called seeing as they had a foul to give Denver would not have had much time to do anything but shoot and it would have been contested and they would have kept the ball from any perimeter scorers like Melo. I still love basketball but I see how rigged this game is in the NBA.
None taken, but every since I have been watching baskeball it has been like that in the 80's people said the same thing when the Lakers and the Celtics battling for titles and people used to always say Jordan gets all the calls becasue the NBA wanted him in the finals every year. The Rockets are playing the Lakers tough, NBA is all about matchups and the Rockets matchs up aganist the Lakers really good. I dont think they are prolonging the series I think they are having problems with Houstons frontline (Scola, Landry, Hayes > Odom, Bynum, Gasol) and Brooks quickness (Brooks > Fisher).
No. The NBA is not rigged. Its not like we havent seen strange calls before. How many times have we seen teams shock other teams? ( Warriors over Mavs, Nuggets over Sonics)
Cleveland also had the best chance of winning the lottery the year they got LeBron James
Chicago had a low chance yea, but dont forget....Orlando won it in 93 when they had Shaq and a .4 chance
another thing...why send Oden and Durant Midwest? They would have been " sent to" Boston and Philadelphia
Jordan did get a lot of the calls but at least then it was close but now it is so obvious. It not as easily hidden. Wade has gotten more calls than Jordan could ever get. Jordan would average 45 or more points in this day and age game is he was in his prime.
&$#%#&@! with the NO hand check rule and the way the game is called he would average 50 but the point I am trying to make is that NBA refs have a diffcult task the have to make calls at a split second, players are crafty and are good actors.... But I do admit when the Lakers played the Kings a few years back I was puzzled something fishy might have been going on in that series.

i cant imagine im the only one who thinks this. can somebody please explain how robert horry tries to take a charge or he could atleast say that he was and knocks steve nash into the scorers table and gets a two game suspension. rajon rondo takes hinrichs arm and slingshots him into the scorers table and he gets 0 games. rondo had more intent, it was a more deliberate attack, and can't even be called a basketball play yet he gets 0 games. right then and there i knew david stern had the fix on. y do refs wear headphones when they watch replays? to hear if david stern says its ok to suspend somebody. the nba has too much money to lose if they dont have cleveland vs boston in the eastern conference finals and kobe vs lebron in the finals. i would of put any amount of money after they took back the flagrant 2 on rondo that it was celtics vs cleveland and cleveland plays the lakers. i knew david stern wouldn't have it any other way. what did the ref see on the replay that made them think rondo should only get a flagrant 1. rondo didnt look at the scorers table when he threw kirk into it just like he didnt look at brad miller when he smoked him in the head. as long as you dont look at the person or what your throwing them into its not that bad says the nba.
