Tongue-Out-Like-23ParticipantThis should be a great game and seemingly a must-win for either team. 32-19 after the first quarter and San Antonio is coming out very aggressive on both ends. They really don’t want to lose this game

JoeWolf1Man, SA got some great minutes out of Diaw that quarter. He made smart plays on offense, and surprisingly James was reluctant to go at him.

JoeWolf1No kidding, 7 pts 4 assists early. Wade made people remember he’s first ballot. Manu might do the same thing today.

BigChamp12ParticipantTony Parker is dominating the Heat’s Point Guards early. The Spurs have let him go one on one instead of using the pick, and it’s working very good for them so far. As far as the Heat, the ball is not moving at all. Wade is aggressive but he plays with the ball too much. Lebron hasnt been aggressive. They should have been running Diaw, instead Lebron settled for jumpers while Diaw barely guarded him.

nick5354ParticipantGreen just equalled Allens record for most 3s in the finals. This is a crazy shooting performance he is putting up. I couldn’t think of a better player to do this, doing the hard yards in the D league and now lighting it up in the finals. Great story.

B-ball fanParticipantSpurs playing incredibly hard. They are getting so many hustle points. Normally Miami is the team that makes all the athletic, open-court plays, but in this game the Spurs are killing in transition. Heat only down four, though, and the Spurs have been a little lucky at times in this game, though, so the Spurs are going to need to continue play with this crazy intensity.

Norris Cole has completely disappeared and has been punked by everyone he guards tonight !
Im pretty sure there’s a stat out tonight that will probably show that Spurs players are 8-8 with Norris Cole defending them in game 5.

rjb241Participantyeah, when wade is good he is pretty darn good. but when he’s bad(usually) my god he’s a team killer. for some reason once he starts making these back-to-back turnovers looking like he forgot how to dribble. i guess he tries to do too much sometimes. its like it just crushed all the momentum they had to get back into the game

akhan786ParticipantDanny Green has made the Heat’s job so much harder. You just saw with that Manu play to end the half that Lebron couldn’t help because otherwise they’d leave Green open.
All they have to do is keep on driving on Green’s side.

B-ball fanParticipantLeBron is really struggling out there. Missing shots and just a little out-of-suync. The spacing advantage the Spurs have is huge. The Heat have struggled shooters jumpers in this series and the lane is really choking up on them. The Spurs, on the other hand, have been absolutely on fire shooting in all five games so far, and it is really opening up the court for them.

BigChamp12ParticipantI still think the Heat are a great team, but what I see in these finals and what I’ve always felt is that outside of Lebron, their team is not smart at all. They make all the wrong decisions. They have bad timing, usually Lebron just carries them and bails them out. But when he’s not on and those guys have to think for themselves, they get exposed, and it shows that they are simply not smart players.

Ghost01ParticipantWho cares if they wouldn’t have a chance without Green’s play? I know he has been shooting amazingly, but he was already one of the best 3 shooters in the league. The Spurs are winning because they are outworking the Heat, they have better ball movement and continue to get better shots.
It also doesn’t help that Boris Diaw guards LeBron for 10 minutes straight and LeBron goes 1-8.

OhCanada-ParticipantA couple Heat notes from this game.
-Lebron lost confidence in himself and grew frustrated with San Antonio’s relentless and persistent effort on all aspects of basketball. This This is why many people will never say Lebron is a better all time player then Kobe, because he mentally checks out at times, makes excuses, complains to refs, makes bonehead frustration fouls and does things you expect a 20 year old to do not the best player in the world to do. Its game 5 King, come on.
-Lebron and Wade literally lost this game by taking plays off. I don’t mean not focusing, I mean I must have saw them sitting on the ground with their arms stretched out complaining to the refs about a no call at least five times each in this game. Whether or not they were fouled at those times makes no difference the point is not getting back on D was giving San Antonio all kinds of easy threes and layups, and not to mention momentum especially since especially the game was in San Antonio.
-Spoelstra really should be giving Joel Anthony some playing time. San Antonio was just getting WAY too many easy layups off penetration. Battier has not been contributing on offense or closing out on shooters and especially when Diaw and Duncan are on the court together its not like Diaw is going to torch him. There is no reason why Anthony’s offensive limitations should be a problem since everything Miami runs is either ISO or a pick and roll with Bosh.
-Spoelstra still has no control over this team. When Miami was faced with adversity they ended up playing themselves out of slumps and proving they are superior talents, although they could never rally and maintain productivity, time and time again they would stop playing system basketball and crumble. Eddie has to be able to rally this team together or he could be close to losing a job.

omphalosParticipantDoes anyone else get extremely irritated watching Shane Battier grapple with people off the ball and then flail around like he’s been punched when they try to dislodge him? The refs are constantly rewarding his flops and I’m surprised at how well the Spurs players are taking it. It’s sickening to watch that kind of display get rewarded on the biggest stage.
