NBA 2k ratings thoughts
Not too many horrible atrocities. I usually end up changing them where appropriate anyway, but looking at that list the appear to be decent. John Wall and Russell Westbrook being an 81 is a little weird, I might boost Russell a bit and keep John (usually do not turn down a players rating, though sometimes where appropriate again). Ray Allen being a 79 was what one person commented on, and I still would have to make Ray a point or two higher, but for starters these are not bad at all. LeBron, Kobe and Wade are the class of the league, which makes sense, I might even put Kevin Durant higher or as high as Melo however, and the Dwight Howard being lower than Pau Gasol is debatable. Also, Tony Parker being a 78 I feel is far too low, as much as I love Aaron Brooks, he should not be a higher rated player than Mr. Longoria. But, overall, I think they actually did a pretty good job, something I was not saying last year with a lot of players receiving very low ratings.
83 for Dirk seems kind of low to me.
no love for holiday, 6 points below evan turner?
I think Jennings being 5 lower then Collison and Curry is a joke. Nash is better then an 85 too. Not a huge fan of most of these.
I think that everything is okay right now for the preseason.. IMO, as long as the best are the best, Im okay..
As long as the ratings are as follows:
Chris Paul is the best PG with Williams as a close second
Kobe is the best SG with Wade a close second
LeBron is the best SF with Durant and Melo as close seconds
Pau Gasol is the best PF with Bosh and Amare as close seconds
Howard is the best C by far
As long as those are how the top goes and people follow accordingly, Im cool with it..
someone needs to tell them ben wallace aint that good anymore. He has a equal or higher rating then big men kevin love, andrea barganni, roy hibbert, troy murphy, paul millsap, joakim noah, elton brand and andray blatche.
john wall rookie rating 81, when u do the legend mode and put mj on any team he is a 79! lmao. they always have questionable ratings. i know some skills are more important when actually playing but jennings a 75 and collison a 80. it should be the opposite. jennings is a beast.
Bynum 77 KMart 77 Okafor 77 Jamison 78
I hope injuries and durability affect ratings cuz Bynum is underrated compared to these guys
Also DWest at 75 and Ben Wallace higher than Noah is pretty bad
Their are always questionable ratings, but all and all I did not think there were total atrocities. Nonetheless, like most of you certain ones caught me, that Collison being an 80 ahead of Parker and Jennings was one for sure. But, these ratings are not fool proof, and at least you have the ability to change them to support your opinions on a players worth. Kenyon Martin over Nene was also confusing, as is Emeka Okafor over David West, though that might be defensive tweaks in both cases. Nonetheless, I think they at least did a good job on some players and for the most part I did not find people being severely underrated, which I think happened in the ratings last year where their seemed to be very little middle ground. Rondo was an 87 last year, and I find it hard to believe Derrick Rose is an 85 and Westbrook is an 81 with that taken into account. I mean, I would not rate Westbrook above Rondo, but Rose is at least on his level if not better. It also does not show bench player ratings, and Ben Wallace is much to high, but I would rather have a player to high than too low. Better competition with better players after all. With Dirk being an 83, it does seem to low, but I remember trying to tweak his ratings, and it was tough to find a way to make them better. As someone said a long time ago, he still usually ends up putting up Dirk Nowitzki numbers regardless. Seeing KG at an 80 and Ray Allen at a 79 just means that man I am getting old. They are still All-Star level players, but they definitely do not seem to be the elite at their position. Nonetheless, I am sure both will be rated higher when I get my 2k copy. I mean, my comment was just meant to say that I thought they were a good starter graph for ratings, but was I supposed to say everyone who's rating I would change? I think you guys get the gist, lol.
Can someone explain how Kleiza is the 2nd lowest rated player on this whole list? thanks.
D.Rose 85 are u serious he's only 5 points higher than Darren Collison and WE and the NBA says he's a top 3 PG right now and if so D.Williams is a 92 rating and CP3 is 95 c'mon son yall gotta get this right he desrves at least a 90 and my boy J.Noah 73 horrible A.bynum was injured and he still got 77 also G.Oden 75 Noah led the league half way through the seaon in RPG with 13 before he got hurt C'MON SON!!!!!
I think there rating fairly.
Other then potential, Rose is as of right now not a top 3 PG.
Noah is not a top 5 C even though he was a good rebounder. Kevin Love was a 74
Javale McGee a 59! That is just absurd. They only gave him that raing based on his production last year, but if he was a starter last season, he would have averaged more stats. And I can't wait to see his shot blocking rating. He should be a top 5 shot-blocking center in the game.
What are you talking about saying "McGee has proven nothing?" In the limited time he saw on the court, he played well. Just look at his stats from last season.
MPG - 16.1, PPG - 6.4, RPG - 4.1, BPG - 1.7.
And look at his stats per 36 minutes.
PPG - 14.4, RPG - 9.0, BPG - 3.8
Just imagine, if he was starting and got a good amount of minutes, he would have certainly produced more. He led the league in blocked shots per 36 minutes. Just imagine, if he was starting, he might have led the league in blocked shots.
And this season, he finally has a true PG(Mr. Wall), something he hasn't had the last two seasons, that will look to set him up and will become instant alley-oop buddies. This summer, he has rapidly progressed. He has gotten stronger, has grown an inch & a half, and has gotten in better shape. He is my pick to win M.I.P. this season.
I don't go off of PER36. That stat makes no sense.
He averaged 6-4. You wanna know how may players averaged 6-4? Alot. Let him PROVE he's good as a starter for a full season. 6 points is 3 baskets.
I want to see his post moves. If he thinks he getting off on athleticism, I think he's mistaken. I have never seen him do a solid low post move yet.
Maybe because you have only watch him during the summer league, he has nice form on his jump shot can hit from free throw line extended, blocks alot of shots and alters others, he is a above average offensive rebounder, and whats wrong with getting in off athleticism Dwight Howard does doesnt he?
I've seen him play tons. I even seen him at his best because he had like 2 of his best 5 games ever vs my Knicks. He's a freak but if a team slows them down, I doubt he scores alot. His post moves from what I seen: average at best. We keep talking jumper, vertical but let's talk low block, turn around jumpers and inside game. Let me see 82 solid games playing 33mpg. I want to see a full season under the belt first.
Dwight Howard is a freak but his numbers are great. He's a 20-14-3 type guy. Let's not nitpick.
So you mean to tell me that since Jennings shot 37% he can't be an 80, but Ariza shot 39% and its cool for him to be a 79?
And McGee hasn't proven anything? he blocked 1.7 shots in 16 mpg...Gasol blocked that many in 37 mpg.
Thats a good point churchboy. I didnt even think about Derozan, he is definately the starter. And i wonder what Ed Davis' rating will be. Do u think its lower than Johnson?
I hate the Ratings I always do...i get obsessed with them and end up editing everybody in the game...There is alwasy something wrong...and Dirk 83?????How is Dirk the same rating at David Lee? Come on thats insane and I guarantee that Dirk will also have like a 59 dribbling and the worse big man dribble set they got in the game. I'm even shocked that Iggy is an 85...As a Sixers fan I was thinking more along the lines of 81 or 83 at most...And Am I the only one that feels LeBron should be rated higher then Wade? I mean just check the stats LeBron is a better rebounder and passer and tho neither one of them shoot well LeBron shoots a higher percent and scores more...
The problem with a lot of people is they care too much about overall rating. You have to look at attributes.
Nowitzki's overall may be an 83, but I'm sure his offensive ratings are high and that's what he's good at. He's not fast or quick. Not extremely strong. He's not a defender, so his blocks, steals, on ball defense and defensive awareness aren't that high.
I disagree with quite a few, but they're good with updating ratings, etc. Eric Gordon is too low. They don't give him credit on the defensive end, which is hurting his overall rating. He should be around a 78.
IF THIS IS HOW THE GAME IS GOING TO BE IM NOT BUYIN IT : http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=g6UwAV8-X5E ....... THIS IS &$#%#&@! MANEE
