The Pacers get pretty little out of a guy who is supposedly very talented. He really makes a marginal impact at best despite having a lot of tools. 6’11”, decent athlete, well built and can shoot but I guess I’m just not seeing what the hype is about

He just fouled out. He’s yet to put it all together but the skills are still there for him to become a very good player. This year he was supposed to take a step forward in a "good player on a bad team" role but after Indiana acquired so many good role players like Joseph, Bogdanovic and Collison and the emergence of Sabonis and Oladipo the Pacers focus never went to developing him. Hes still so young, I believe in him.

It’s his mindset. He wants to be a finesse scorer, almost like a wing, but that’s not his game. He would add so much more value if he got a bit stronger, since the Cavs bullied him a bit in this series, but overall, he’s not assertive enough aside from the occasional block from weak side help. Sabonis isn’t inherently better at anything (though he’s a bit quicker), but he works for positions and gets involved. Some of that falls on the coaching staff and system, but Myles has to demand involvement if he wants to score. Otherwise, he has the size and skills to contribute in so many other ways if he wants to.

In other words, he needs to decide what kind of player he wants to be.

He needs to get a lot stronger this off-season, that should be priority #1. I have always maintained his ceiling is Marcus Camby with a little more range which is really nice value at #11 pick.

I don’t see him as Indiana’s go to bug man scorer, I truly feel that’ll be the guy filling the PF spot next to him, Domantas Sabonis who I think will be s Kevin Love player.

For some reason Pacers seem to prefer Sabonis coming from the bench or not having him or Turner starting together. I can understand that having Thad Young on court alongside the younger guys gives them a better spread of experience and maybe Nate Mc feels that Sabonis and Turner’s games are a bit too similar.

I don’t think either one of them is truely talented enough to build your frontcourt around, they’d both be good complimentary pieces to a stud big man though. If you could combine the two you’d probably have some type of Boogie Cousins player…

Sabonis is good but he’s the offensive version of Taj Gibson, he’ll get you 12 & 7 no matter how many minutes he plays because he plays hard so he’s an average starter but a great 6th or 7th man

Hes a terrible defensive rebounder. You can only teach rebounding to an extent. You can teach the fundimentals but its really a decision and mentality to grind out rebounds. Hard to flip that switch you dont see people make that leap often. He is also a bit uncoordinated and has bad core balance. Even when I play basketball Im nothing special and not that big but I already know Im gonna outrebound most people just because they dont wanna deal with me and my efforts. Tristan Thompson read that all over Turner and wrecked him.

I’m a big believer in Turner. Strength. Strength. Strength. That’s all he needs. Then the confidence will come. Then he’ll be a borderline All-Star to All-Star type of player.
