the lake showPerry’s game is nothing like Durants though. He’s not as polished in the post at the same stage nor is he the shooter and He’s still raw as a three. He can bring the ball up court but when he has to create, handle pressure in the half court as a Three he struggles. He also doesn’t bring the same intensity every night that Durant did. Other than there height they are nothing alike

the lake showAre you basing you’re scouting report on one move or on all the games that they have played?

Anton123ParticipantYou’re a bit too high on all of them, I mean a guy, who’s bottom line is Blatche is pretty damn good.
You’re basically saying you see
1.T-Mac/Blatche
2. CP3
3. Melo
4. Better version of Glen Davis
5. Agent 0/Jason Terry
That’s a pretty crazy good draft, but to me this years draft seems pretty week. Only chance for it to be great is if all the european guys pan out

lalailaParticipantyour top5 are almost identical to mines, i have only TJ over Kyrie but it’s tough..just don’t agree that Perry is sf.

Daprob89ParticipantAll the games i seen him play he gets thru the lane effortless with either hand its D1 guards that can’t do that.

RUDEBOY_Participantterrance jones can handle the ball like a guard..he did it constantly in high school and in tournaments…but coach cal wants him in the post…

the lake showEffortlessly?..Every scouting report ive read and from watching him says he needs to work on his handles to truly be a SF. neither player does anytype of spectacular drives down the lane they go in a stright line driving past Power forwards. Neither has shown that they Don’t need to work on there handles to be a comfortable fit as a NBA SF. Both have the Potential to one day play SF but neither has shown that they can come in and Play it from day one

the lake showDraftexpress-
Looking forward, Jones was already thought of as a potential lottery pick before the season began, so the mature and confident game he’s shown thus far has definitely helped, especially because its rare freshmen instantly contribute in such a complete manner. While still more of a combo-forward at the moment, Jones’ early prowess with perimeter shot creation and adequate comfort with perimeter defense so early in his career also make an eventual transition to full-time small forward more likely, something that also should help his stock. With his physical tools, NBA-ready body, and strong and growing skill set, Jones has a high ceiling and should stay put firmly in the early-to-mid lottery if he can continue this play all seasonFrom DraftExpress.com http://www.draftexpress.com/profile/Terrence-Jones-5708/#ixzz1A0iJCRpf

BlueLacesParticipantWhy would the Wizards draft Irving? Didn’t they just draft a kid by the name of John Wall?

Daprob89ParticipantEveryone that has played the game knows that handles aren’t just about moves but to perfect a move you have to have handles… Handles can be simply driving the ball consistently thru traffic without losing control of the ball and Jones is doing that on a D1 level
NBA Comparison: Lamar Odom/Marvin Williams
Strengths: A talented lefty wing forward with tremendous versatility. Can play the 1-through-4 position at the HS and college levels … Handles the ball like a guard and is comfortable breaking down opponents and taking the ball off the dribble from the perimeter at 6-9 … Shows the ability to score in a variety of ways, using both his size and athleticism to get to the rim as well as knocking down mid-range shots. Very polished … Despite an ugly form, has good touch on his shot … Clever at making moves in the paint. Finishes well around the basket … Strong transition player … Great vision and passing skills … Has a mature body with good strength and excellent length … Plays with a solid motor, competitive nature … Does a good job of drawing fouls by forcing the issue and initiating contact around the basket … Strong on the boards, particularly crashing the offensive glass …

the lake showDraftexpress is always more accurate then any other site especially this one. Anyone who has watched him clearly see’s he needs work in order to be a full time SF. This site says he can play the 1-4 in college which is completely WRONG

Daprob89ParticipantThe wizards won’t draft him but who says their going to get that pick when the lottery comes around…
Its more of a prospect ranking than a draft because draft positions aren’t set

Daprob89ParticipantThey dont mean he can play 1-4 full-time their referring to during the course of game and in the many rotations played… Similar to how the lakers use Lamar from time to time

the lake showWhenever scouts say you are a combo right now that clearly means you need to work on couple of things to be considered one position or the other

Daprob89ParticipantI agree with you on that but the bottom line is Jones can get done with his handles… And if he needs work although i don’t think so. Ball handling is the easiest part of your game to work on it just takes a little time I suggest tennis balls.

the lake showAnd who said TJ was a former guard?..I remember his JR scouting report where He wasn’t even considered good enough to play SF at the time. He was just a big man who kept trynna prove he could handle and shoot but couldnt do either every well. Some even said he would never be able to play SF. They look like fools now though

the lake showEventually he will but right now he is not a clear cut SF. He drives past big men with ease with a quck first step but he hasn’t been put in a tough situation that has proven he can come in and Play SF right away

Daprob89ParticipantWhat bout Iverson,Gilbert or even Wade? They’re combo guards and that doesn’t always mean you need to work on something. Sometimes it just means your too offensive minded and to great of a scorer to be point guard but you have the skills to be but your team needs some else from you. No matter the position you play 9 times out of 10 if your the best scorer on your team. Your going have to score for your team to be successful. Plus, its very easy to find a player to fit a certain role(Specialists) that’s how Iverson got to the finals with the support cast he had.

the lake showAnd they are Proven. TJ is Playing PF beating up on PF who have no future checking SF. Just liek those guys at the Same stage TJ has alot to work on. Right now He isn’t comparable to any of those guys because they have proven what they can do on the NBA level. He hasn’t. big difference

the lake showLike i’ve said over and over he has the POTENTIAL to be a full time NBA SF. Right now he has to work on becoming that. His handles and Game isn’t as what this site says it is. The concensous is that he has the potential to be a SF but right now needs work just like Perry Jones
