sammybuckeye13ParticipantThese kinds of posts I feel are always met with a LOT of criticism, so let me just defend myself briefly: these players are not in any kind of order, just who came to mind. These are all the players I thought I were familiar with enough that I could compare to someone. Comparisons are based on how much I am reminded of the other player when I watch them play, which is first and foremost style of play and how successfully they play, then also considering physicality (obviously unavoidable when ‘comparing,’ but it’s not the most important thing). Let me know what you think!
Kyrie Irving — Chris Paul
Derrick Williams — Antawn Jamison (stronger)
Perry Jones — Rashard Lewis (more athletic)
Jared Sullinger — Elton Brand
Kemba Walker — Damon Stoudemire
Terrence Jones — Jeff Green
Harrison Barnes — Jamal Mashburn
Alec Burks — Kevin Martin
Brandon Knight — Jason Terry
Tristan Thompson — Tyrus Thomas (better scorer)
Tyler Honeycutt — Josh Childress
Trey Thompkins — Drew Gooden
Jimmer Fredette — Vinnie "The Microwave" Johnson
Kyle Singler — Quentin Richardson
Jordan Hamilton — Steve Smith
Kawhi Leonard — Thaddeus Young
Demetri McCamey — Mike Bibby
Josh Selby — Steve Francis
Nolan Smith — Lou Williams
Marcus Morris — David West
Markieff Morris — Taj Gibson
John Henson — Anthony Randolph
Chris Singleton — Julian Wright (stronger)
Kris Joseph — Chris Douglas-Roberts
Kenneth Faried — Luc Mbah a Moute
Jordan Williams — Marreese Speights
JaJuan Johnson — Jason Thompson
LaceDarius Dunn — Marcus Thornton
Renardo Sidney — Zach Randolph
Jeffrey Taylor — Aaron Afflalo
Rick Jackson — Louis Admundson
David Lighty — Terrence Williams
Corey Fisher — Toney Douglas
Charles Jenkins — Eddie House
Keith Benson — Nazr Mohammed
Klay Thompson — John Salmons

BKKnicksfanParticipantThe only comparison I disagree with is Charles Jenkins. He reminds me of Vernon Maxwell alot. Other then that? Fantastic Job I believe. plus 1

sammybuckeye13ParticipantThanks, I’ve only seen him play once and he was very hard to pin down. He has great strength for his size and is just a deadly scorer and at 6-3 reminded me of House at ASU but yeah I definitely see the Maxwell comp.

RUDEBOY_ParticipantSome of your comparisons are Right on the Money..But 3 are not..These are the 1’s i disagree with…
1.Tristan Thompson-reminds me of Ed Davis
2.Keith Benson-reminds me of Stephen Hunter
3.Kris Joseph-plays nothing like CDR..

sammybuckeye13ParticipantThompson and Benson were the 2nd to last and 3rd to last ones I did, they were really hard. I could definitely see Thompson as Davis, but wasn’t thinking about that for some reason. Keith Benson was also very hard. Kris Joseph doesn’t have CDR’s very unconventional game, but both make their living attacking the lane and in the mid-range, and they’re very similar physically (Joseph is a bit stronger). Not until recently did Joseph become a superior shooter.

RUDEBOY_ParticipantSome players like Chandler Parsons,Mike Davis,Mason Plumlee and Robert Sacre might be better pros than college players…

Lotto StudParticipantSo if Lou Williams went to college he was suppose to be what Nolan Smith is today in college?????? hmmmmm………I think if Lou stepped foot at UGA he would be a decent "PG" rather than being known as a scoring guard.

llperezi dont like the tyler honeycutt josh childress comparison. Honeycutt has probably taken more 3’s this season then josh did in 3 years at stanford. Tyler should become a very solid three point threat in the nba. ALso tyler loves to pass, it might be his biggest strength, hes almost too unselfish.

PureshooterParticipantI don’t really see the Kyle Singler – Quentin Richardson comp. Singler is bigger and is a much better rebounder, but coming out of Depaul Richardson was a much better athlete and finisher. I think of Singler as a stiffer version of Gordon Hayward and I don’t really see him as a very good pro.
I hadn’t really thought of the Harrison Barnes – Jamal Mashburn comparison, but I think that one in particular is excellent.

kobyzParticipanti’m changing my Tristan Thompson comparison to Kenyon Martin, Thompson is such a good one on one defender in the post, play very aggressive and intense, trying to block everything and great rebounder… also on offense he has some little post moves that could resemble him to Martin!
