IndianaBasketballParticipantWhat happened to LeBron James?
He wasn’t that happy, smiling, high energy and fun player we’re used to seeing. He didn’t look happy. He looked out of it, like he wasn’t enjoying himself… Like he wasn’t interested. He wasn’t aggressive. He made a lot of passes that were un-LeBron like. It’s shocking to me because it’s the first time I’ve seen him this way. It was so unusual. He looked like he was in a shell.
I know he was having problems with his elbow, but it couldn’t have been anything significant enough to impact him to this magnitude.
My question is, what do you think it was? Do you think it was team chemistry? Do you think he crumbled under the insane amount of pressure? Do you think it was the Celtics’ D? Do you think he had a problem with the coaching, specifically the rotations, in game and game-to-game adjustments? Do you think he tanked the game in order to have an excuse to leave Cleveland? Or do you just think he had a bad series? What do you think?

IndianaBasketballParticipantEspecially considering he stole if off of the message board on ESPN.com. I saw somebody else post this on the message board of the article about Mike Brown being fired. Way to stay original.

ZeroParticipantIn my opinion, I think Lebron was kinda pressured in the sense that he had to do good and do everything for the Cavs or else they would lose. I remember near the end of game 6 when Lebron was shooting free throws the Celtic fans chanting “New York Knicks” which was pretty funny.

NYK2010ParticipantIf the Knicks miss out on Lebron its not the end of the world, though I’m sure ppl will say it will be.
I know Wade will probably resign in Miami or head to Chicago. There are a lot of quality players out there after those 2.
They do have a young SG/SF combo in Chandler and Gallo that has done well obviously they aren’t franchise players but if you add a legit Center and a PG they will improve on that alone.
A PG that can shoot is key becaz look at Duhon he could run the offense, with the pick n roll esp. with Lee very well but he went on these prolonged shooting slumps. It really hurt the team he shot like 30% for a while and on 3 pointers he was awful for much of the season. They might get lucky with Curry since he’s in a contract year maybe he actually gives them some quality mins like 15 mins a nite who knows.
Walsh is a pretty smart GM he knows he has to get significantly better but doesn’t have to over spend on guys not worth the money. He needs to acquire a 1st round pick some how as well.0 - Posted on: Sat, 05/15/2010 - 1:56am #315863
DanEboyParticipantTezo, maybe, just maybe, LeBron already knows where he is going. Or at least maybe he already knows that he is for sure not coming back to Cleveland. If that is the case then maybe it was the pressure that got to him. The Celtics played out of their mind and it looked like he realized halfway through the game that his supporting cast wasn’t good enough. He finished with 9 turnovers right? It almost looked like the stress of everything hit him during that game.
Maybe I am reading too much into it but, like you said, he just didn’t look like himself out there.

marcusfizer21ParticipantA lot of quitters on that roster… Varejao was bitchin’ during that game… He complains abbout his bleeding and asked the refs to stop… If you’re a warrior, you don’t act like that… I felt pity for LeBron and it’s a shame because he tried so hard to make a comeback in that game only to completely ruin it by his teammates for not doing their part… Mo attempted poor shots in the last 5 mins and Jamison sucked… Varejao is probably the worst player signed to a $50 Million deal… Danny Ferry needs a lot of explaining on that…

TyroberParticipantVarejao means a lot to the cavs. They overpaid him, but EVERY team needs a guy like him. He is a big man who plays solid defense, hustles his ass off, and will take a charge. He isnt a game changer, but Varejao is a great asset to the cavs

knicksfan7ParticipantI think Lebron needs a change of scenery. He needs to go somewhere where competence is at the head coaching and GM level. The more I think about it, the less I blame Mike Brown, and the more I blame Danny Ferry. Danny Ferry can’t draft for S***. I know Cleveland is always picking at the end of the first round, but that is no excuse for not making good picks. The Spurs always pick at the end of the 1st round and make great picks. Also, Lebron needs a sidekick someone who w/o Lebron can make an All-Star team. He has never had that.
