Lotto StudParticipantThere are a lot of players in the NBA who listen to a wide variety of music & I’m quite sure you all do too. We can sit around & try to figure out what music in their ipod gets them to the level on the court that makes them go off for the game. I would like to ask you all what specific song do you feel fits their style of play whether it’s Rap, R&B, Jazz, Rock, Mixtape, Commercial, etc. Feel free to post a link for the song if you like, so we all can listen. Also explain why you chose the specific song for the players style of play.
John Wall= Lil Scrappy "Riding With No L’s" http://www.youtube.com/watch
I feel as though no other song could possibly compare to how Wall plays when he has the ball in his hands going full-tilt to the hoop in transition. The way Wall takes off with the ball in his hands you would think the police is after him for riding dirty. The Wizards might wanna get him some L’s before he gets pulled over for being in a head on collision.

Tongue-Out-Like-23ParticipantDidn’t somebody else do this last week? Regardless. I’m going to compare my players to artists rather than single songs.
I’d say Dwyane Wade is anything from Kid Cudi. Cudi brings a smooth approach to his music as Wade does with his game. Both have overcame doubters many times. Cudi was never seen to break into the scene and stay on the scene. Wade wasn’t highly touted out of high school and when selected early in the 2003 draft, Miami hated the idea. Injury after injury, the guy comes back stronger and better. Cudi was supposed to be a one hit wonder with Day n Night, Wade’s chip was supposed to be a one time thing because he had an older Shaq. Now he has a chance to win some more.
LeBron James is Kanye West / Jay-Z. LeBron matches Kanye’s outspoken character. They try to do things with good intentions when obviously they don’t care what anybody else thinks. He’s going to do what is better for LeBron as Kanye does things that better Kanye himself. Who cares about anybody else. His Jay-Z side has to be that he knows he the best and he’s going to make his money while proving he’s the best. Jay is LeBron’s business side.
Kobe Bryant is Nas. Nas has been in the business for decades. Ever since he started, he came in with a bang, Illmatic. Kobe came out straight out of high school and clearly only wanted to play in a big market, he had plans for the future. Both of them have been consistenty great in their careers and whenever it seems as if they’ll fall off, they come back stronger. Illmatic, It Was Written, I Am… were 3 back to back to back albums that Nas put out that were flat out GREAT. Much like Kobe’s 3peat. After a couple of decent albums, Nas came back strong with #1 charters Hip Hop is Dead and Untitled. Kobe Bryant came back only to win back to back chips with the possibility of winning a couple more before he’s done.

I May Be WrongParticipantbut a few of my favorite players and songs that I think match them are:
Russell Westbrook = "Beast Mode" by B.o.B .. I think B.o.B is pretty dope cuz he does whatever he likes much like Cudi. I think he’s kind of underrated and people will only remember him for making that song with Bruno Mars and I think he’s much more than that. He also is under a label with T.I. and rightful so, T.I. gets all the love but I think people overlook B.o.B. Same goes with the Thunder. Durant gets the attention (rightfully so) but some people undermine how great of a PG Westbrook is. This song has B.o.B spazzing out and the first verse fits Russ Westbrook perfectly IMO.. http://www.youtube.com/watch
LaMarcus Aldridge = "I’m Not a Star" by Rick Ross … With LaMarcus straight BALLIN’ this season, this song is perfect for his all-star snub. In all honesty, no one thought the Blazers could be competitive as LaMarcus being the go to guy but here they are at a respectful record and trying to compete for a playoff spot and LaMarcus is carrying them night in and night out. http://www.youtube.com/watch
John Wall = "What They’ve Been Waiting For" by Diggy Simmons … I have a great feeling about this guy and with a little bit of time, he will be in the discussion as the leagues best PG. His vision is amazing for his age (just like young Diggy) and he’s only going to get better with time. http://www.youtube.com/watch

Lotto StudParticipantDerrick Rose-Lupe Fiasco "The Show Goes On" http://www.youtube.com/watch
This one was too easy to compare for DRose, none other then Chi-Town rapper himself Lupe Fiasco, everything about this song is sooo self-explanitory. Time & time, game after game he gets a knocks toward his game for any little thing. "He’s not better then DWill CP3 Rondo, he does not play D well enough, he scores too much". Well guess what, HIS J IS ON NEMO, he’s the BEST PG in the NBA to me & will be the MVP. when was the last time there were MVP chants in the United Center other then being called out for MJ???? Whether or not his team wins the title this year…….The DRose Show Goes On.
