MunokcParticipantThe Houston Rockets alone has 3 serious contenders for the MIP in Harden, Omer Asik and recently Patrick Peterson. PP has added 3pt shooting to his skill set and it really helped him and the team too, he scored more than 20 in the last 3 games

omphalosParticipantLet’s not forget OJ Mayo as far as MIP is concerned.

Jr. ROXASParticipantGreivis Vasquez! awesome season so far with 8.7 assists per game which top 5 in the NBA. Add in Larry Sanders who after that incredible 10 block game is fourth in the NBA in blocks and off the bench too!

bennydabullParticipantAll of the above. I wouldn’t consider OJ though. He put up similar numbers his rookie year.

Lebron’s HairlineParticipantWhy hasn’t anyone said Larry Sanders? He went from bench fodder to a shotblocking monster this year

SubZeroParticipantI’m not really sure if Harden is a candidate, because he’s always been capable of putting up those numbers. He just didn’t get the opportunity since he was only the 3rd best player on the Thunder.
Holiday, Patterson, and Vasquez are my top 3.
And I just thought I should point this out. OJ Mayo is shooting 53% from 3 on 5.5 attempts a game.

machu46ParticipantI’m with SubZero. I don’t think Harden has really improved to be honest. Statistically, he’s actually gotten worse in just about every statistical category.
My picks would be Patrick Patterson, Larry Sanders, and Jrue Holiday (off the top of my head). Vasquez is probably up there too, though I don’t think he’s improved so much as he’s just in a much better situation this year.

ReekoParticipantKevin Durant? You could argue that he’s raised his level of play another notch in terms of rebounding and play making. He is a far more dangerous basketball player than he was in his Finals appearance last season.

thparadoxParticipantStill extremely early in the season, so this on small sample sizes.
But Anderson Varejao would get my vote.

machu46ParticipantHe should be an all-star, but he was playing pretty close to this level last year before he got hurt too.

chall23ParticipantFor me i have to nominate Carmelo Anthony. He has been playing good defense and is finding his open teammates, the 2 things everybody has hated on him for throughout his career..
