Go ahead and just say the most embarrassing moment that have happen to you while playing basketball. Forexample you getting dunked on, crossed up, air balled a free throw, or exc.

Mine was this year in 9th grade in the middle of the basketball season I was moved up to varsity. My first game on varsity was against a rivalry team at home. The crowd was packed and I had some good minutes. In the 3rd quarter I got to the free throw line and while I was shooting it was quiet since it was a home game. On my second free throw i paused before I shot and took a fart . The referee even laughed a little. I was glad the whole crowd did not hear but whoever did not hear it someone told them about it. My team just stopped talking about that two weeks ago and it happen in January.

When I was in 7th grade I started my JV team as point guard, and we were getting killed by like 30 by a team that was like full of Freshman (We had none). Near the end of the game, our Center was shooting free throws. He misses the 2nd one and my friend gets the rebound and kicks it out to me. What do I do? Run the other way and make a layup. The whole time before they blew the whistle I was like why isn’t anyone stopping me?

Caught the opening tip, dribbled the wrong way and hit a layup on my team’s basket.

in 7th grade my dad took me to this Air Force womens team he coached practice and asked me to play in a scrimmage with them. It was me and some guys that were around the gym against them…i figured we had it won easy…the other guys on my team did decent but the 6’4 girl i was guarding MURDERED me down low….think of Steve Nash playing low post defense on Kareem…I was thinking in my head “damn dad why are you letting me go out like this?”

    Back in grade 10

I was a 90% FT shooter, around 50% 3pt shooter and scored over 30 ppg, i was 0-8 from the stripe, 0-10 from 3 and score 4 points. We lost by 30 to one of the worst teams in the province in a tournament.

The game before I scored 55 points and hit the game winner in OT. I pretty much felt like it was my fault, pretty embarrassing, and disappointing.

As for embarrassing, In grade 9, i was playing a game where the score was 1-1 after the 1st quarter. We won 36-30 in OT

It was in 10th grade we were playing an away game, and a missed shot cracked me in the head. Someone in the crowd said “oh no his Medulla oblongata” and the whole crowd laughed. I tried to shake it but i was a no show for the rest of the game.

When I got into high school I had this friend who could dunk, or so he always said. His ankle was always messed up, so he would never try and eventually I thought he was just hyping himself. So halfway through the year I beat him in a 1v1 and start running my mouth as he started walking away. He turned around threw the ball off the backboard and laid a one handed tam-ma hawk dunk right over me…never questioned him again

We were in crunch time of a closely contested game and I made great pass… Right to the referee… I mean our jerseys were black and white so I figured I had a man unguarded…..

In grade 9 (age 14) we had these GLO games we played and the girls phys ed class joined ours and easily divided the teams to girls and guys so the objective was to run across the gym there and back then there then shout a hockey ball into the net (sledge hockey) then shot a basket they put me at the end of the line then when i got to the basket i tryed too hard to get it in and panicked then 30 seconds later the last girl in the girls line eventually catches up to me and scored but idk for sure if my ball went in the net after hers so i may have won (or tied) if I ran back but i forgot to and just let her run back and blew 13 missed baskets for m guys team so which ever team lost was to do 10 push ups but i never really did them because i needed to leave the gym so this happened on may 18 2010 and was the worst day of my life because the girl i liked was in the girls squad/team so i felt really bad afterwords and it still bothers me today a year and 2 months later, I don’t know how to forget about it because it always hurts to think of it.

My team was running the break, but the other team had 2 guys in the paint, so I stopped at mid range, my teammate passed me the ball and just when I was going to shoot it a player from the other team got behind me and tipped the ball from my hand. I took a jumpshot without the ball.

Mine was three years ago, when the game was tied, and I got fouled shooting, so I went to the line with 1.6 seconds left. I had scored 20 points in that game, quite a bit considering I was just 11. But I was a terrible foul shooter at the time, so I missed both, and we lost in OT. SInce then I have always practiced free throws.

Stepped in to take a charge on a wing player from a rival school. He dunked all over me, balls on my head, everything. I hit the ground, he landed on top of me. I got the the blocking call against me. The crowd went nuts, and in the crowd watching me play for the first time… my girlfriend and her parents. Ouch.

Running a 2 on 0 fast break and I had the ball in my hands.  I was going to give a behind the back pass to my teammate so I’ll get the assist and he’ll score.  Turns out, he stopped at the 3pt line because I had an open layup and I gave a behind the back pass to my coach out of bounds.  He took me out immediately and I didn’t play the rest of the game.

It was in the second quarter in 7th grade, we were down by some, and I missed an open bank shot from two feet away. We ended up rallying, but lost in OT, and that game was basically winner takes last playoff spot.

I had a breakaway in 8th grade, and I was so nervous. My adrenaline was going CRAZY, and I looked both ways and attempted to lay the ball up from the free throw line. I missed bad of course, really bad. I also got benched immediately and was roasted on by my teammates for about a week. My teammates said it looked like when Michael Jordan dunked on the Monstars, except my arm didn’t stretch out and I didn’t dunk. lol.

I was playing a pick up game in college, and at my 5’8” frame was fighting for a rebound with one of the taller kids in the game. I ended up getting the ball, and when I turned around, he ripped the ball out of my hands, and dunked on me, the ball hit me in the head as it went through the hoop. One of my best friends said, don’t worry about it man, then I had an open three on the next possession, and had one of the worst air balls of my life, missed the hoop by at least three feet.

In my 10th grade, we were in a semi final game in a big tourney. I was always more of a SG who could shoot and create my own shot, but my coach was an inside/physical guy so I rarely got the PT I deserved. Anyways, our starting PG is suspended, and our backup gets hurt against a powerhouse athletic team. Coach puts me in at PG. I played cautiously, but we somehow were right in it in the 4th.

That’s when they switched to a press D. This team had a bunch of athletes, and I used to struggle against the press, so I panicked. Turned it over a bunch of times in the 4th, including on back to back important posessions. We ended up losing of course. My teammates were on me after that, and I ended up in the coach’s doghouse (if I wasn’t already).
