I was hoping to get some feedback on my mock draft.  I feel pretty good about it at this stage but I have a few selections that I’m not thrilled with.  First off, my picks 1-5 is not based on talent but a trade between Milwaukee, Utah and Orlando that was mentioned on the forum earlier this week. Milwaukee trading down for Exum, Utah trading up for Parker and Orlando trading down for Smart, it almost makes too much sense not to happen. bWith that being said, if there isn’t any indication closer to the draft of a trade then I will switch 1-5 to Embiid, Wiggins, Parker, Exum and Vonleh.

The selctions i’m not thrilled with are:

Lavine at 8, it’s a little too high but I have a feeling someone will trade with Sacto and bite on his youth and athleticism. I think the Lakers may be the team if they dangle Gasol.

McDermott at 13 to Minny, I don’t see a great fit with many other teams and the Twolves could use some outside shooting.

Micic at 25 to Houston, its more about financial flexibility to go after Love or Melo and the fact that they can use a PG upgrade. He’s compared to Calderon and that’s exactly the type needed.

Ennis at 20 to Toronto, they could use small forward depth behind Ross but adding another rook to play behind him is questionable.  More likely scenario is they use the pick to trade for a vet.

Austin at 42 to Houston, I know this site has him listed as the 60th pick but i think he has the size and skills to excel in his home state of texas.

Brown at 44 to Minny, this will be a traded pick since they have 3 2nd round picks and draft Jordan Adams a few spots higher.

Any insight or criticism is appreciated.

Not too bad I like it. But I don’t know about McGary going 23rd and Wilcox slipping to 35. I’d actually switch those 2 picks around. I like the idea but I think with McGary’s injury I think he’ll slip to the second round.

Kyle Anderson’s stock is all over the place but I hear Atlanta really likes him and think he’s the next Boris Diaw. With the Hawks having 2 people from the Spurs in the front office Danny Ferry and Mike Budenholzer, I think they can spot talent when I see it. Therefore I wouldn’t be surprised if the Hawks take slo-mo at 15.

I hear the Celtics really like Aaron Gordon. I don’t know if they’d be willing to draft him over Vonleh, but I think it’s a definite possibility. And I don’t remember if I saw where you had Porzingis or Nurkic but those two their stock is really shooting up. If they going up at this rate they’ll be the lottery picks. Right now I have Porzingis going 17 to Boston and Nurkic going 21 to OKC.

Im really starting to like Nik Stauskas’s game. I imagine he might struggle on defense with more athletic players, but he can really shoot, handles the ball well, and is a very solid passer.

I think Ennis to Toronto makes lots of sense, for the position he plays as Toronto have free agents at that spot and also because Ennis is from there.

McDermott is a good fit for Minnesota, but he has the ability to score that could make him go a lot higher in the draft.

LaVine at 7 could happen, so LaVine at 8 is certainly a chance.

Smart at 4 is different to many mock drafts, but for a year everyone has been hearing how much orlando like Smart.

It looks like a mock draft that should predict many of the actual picks.
