Great article on MKG , I wonder if the hornets really value his production the same. I know it was some rumors of him on the trading block last year. Whats his value around the league? I think within the next 2 years he can be a 14 and 7 player. I would work on his handling more than jump shot at this moment as I can see him a nighmare one on one

But it is not just Kidd-Gilchrist’s play that has improved. The entire team finally seems to be coming into its own and finding its identity, or at least seemed to before they laid an egg against the Nets Saturday night. Ignoring the blowout, the Hornets had given up 100 points per game to opponents and allowed them to shoot just 44.8 percent on field goals, including 30.6 percent on 3-point attempts. In the 12 games prior, an MKG-less Hornets squad was giving up 102.8 points per game as opponents shot 47.4 from the floor and 30.6 percent from 3.

Then, there is the rebounding numbers, Kidd-Gilchrist’s other area of strength. While the small forward was out hurt, the Hornets’ rebounding numbers looked like this — 40.5 rebounds (47.3 rebounding percentage; 78.6 defensive rebound percentage) and 9.3 offensive rebounds per game (20.1 offensive rebound percentage). In the three games since MKG’s return, the rebounding numbers stood as follows — 42.3 rebounds (48.5 REB%; 85.2 DREB%) and 9.7 offensive rebounds per game (19.7 OREB%).
