The8thDeadlySinParticipantWhile I was watching this, I was thinking to myself, "he isnt that good" but then I realized that this kid is only 13… Lets see what happens in a couple of years.
That being said, he looks fantastic for an 8th grader.. If he continues at this rate, he will be nice..

WizardofOzParticipant^^He’s not 13. He’s actually a reclassified Fr., so he’s a year old for his class.

JoeWolf1He appears to be very strong for his age, and to have a pretty advanced game. But like I always say, check back in 3 years.

WizardofOzParticipantI saw this kid play last week vs. Grace Prep (team w/ Isaiah Austin and Emmanuel Mudiay). He’s impressive for a freshman (even as an older freshman). Kid just has a natural feel for angles, whether it be passing angles, attacking off the bounce, or attacking the glass. He’s quicker than i thought off the bounce, has a great weak hand and good form on his jumper. He did a bit too much standing and watching on both ends of the floor. Kinda understandable on the offensive end since he takes a back seat to all the upperclassmen, but on defense he was repeatedly caught on screens and beat off the dribble by mudiay. Dunno if that’s fair to say though because Mudiay was killing everyone off the bounce. He’ll have to work on his craftiness and drawing contact in the paint because he’s not a great vertical athlete. He had a nice dunk that followed a nasty crossover, but he too struggled getting off a good shot around the rim.

McDunkinI saw under the comments for that video that he was held back twice and is really 16…does anyone know his age for sure?

Dale WorthingtonParticipantI don’t think he was held back twice.
Can he play all 5 positions? It seems like it.

mikeyvthedonParticipantThough, it seems to be a common practice for a lot of these kids to be held back. Always interesting to see how old everyone really is when they get to the point where we know there age. Too much emphasis is put on age, I believe, but when it comes to "young phenoms", than it can definitely shift things into the favor of someone being a little more physically ready than someone else.
Still, Mickey Mitchell seems to be off to a great start. Have no idea if he will be a PG down the line, but I would think that he would probably be a wing. But, who knows what the future holds? He still has a long way to play and I hear his son’s bar mitzvah is next week :). Seriously though, white Magic Johnson Dale? That is what he reminds you of? Showtime Magic Johnson? The guy who holds the NBA career record for assists per game Magic Johnson? Time will tell, but I believe overreaction may be a word I might not regret having used in the future.

paradigmnParticipantWho the hell is MICKEY MICH???…sounds like a cartoon character!!!
This is why this form rocks!!!
First of All…McBased….you r freakin HILARIOUS!!!…lol….It’s like you can sum up how I feel with a couple words and a pic or gif…EVERYTIME…Well Done!!!
Second of All…It’s Funny how a "DUAL" post can have 2 TOTALLY different results. So…Dale…didn’t I post something about MICKEY "it’s" MITCHELL (by the way) like a couple hours before this post??? I did… http://www.nbadraft.net/forum/freshmanmickey-mitchellleads-prestonwood-christian-city-palms-championship#comment-407134 …and I used to like Mickey’s game…but…after you called him the caucasian Magic Johnson…and…totally buchared a credible prospect….I am having second doubts.
Third of All….Age questions…He played in the 14 & Under National AAU Tournament in July….so he was 14 then…I assume he is 15 right now.
Anyways….. Dale…if this kid’s the White Magic Johnson….maybe you can show me the Black Larry Bird!!!

Dale WorthingtonParticipantThe black Larry Bird would have to be Bart "Can’t Wait" Scott from the Jets.
