The reports are swarming that teams love him to create headlines leading up to Thursday night, but what are the possibilities of him being the guy to fall out of the lottery?

I think zero..read today Kings and Memphis are very high on him still..Ie won’t fall past the Clippers, Clippers owner from Seattle, seen him play in HS and really liked him and they can gamble with having two lottery picks.

I cannot imagine him falling past Chicago at #7 or Cleveland at #8.  To be honest, I think he’s going to Dallas at #5, unless they make a move with Memphis where they do a swap of #4 & #5 for Chandler Parsons contract and Harrison Barnes (which I think makes sense for both teams, if Memphis isn’t ENAMORED with Doncic and wants to offload Parsons’s contract).  I have Trae Young as a near lock going to Orlando, since they have one of the worst PG depth charts in the NBA right now and I think he makes sense for them.  That means you have 2 franchises looking for an All-NBA talent at #7 and #8 because this might be the last shot both franchises have to pick Top 10 for awhile (unless Lebron leaves Cleveland, of course). BTW, that’s more of an indictment of the East than it is praise for either franchise (minus Lebron of course).  Does Lebron James feel more comfortable staying in Cleveland if they add a potential franchise talent or another 3 and D wing like Mikal Bridges or Kevin Knox?

I don’t know how on earth Sacramento can afford to gamble at #2 on him, especially with the type of talent they almost can guarantee with Doncic, Bamba, Jackson, or Bagley.

But if he falls out of the Top 10, his medicals are crap.  It’s that simple.  All that other garbage (he’s not a good team guy, he’s chasing girls, he is inefficient shooting, etc.) shouldn’t faze anyone picking #5 – #10.  His medicals 100% SHOULD faze those GM’s/Teams.

Yes.  As a Bulls fan I am conflicted.  I would love to get Porter at 7 but on the other hand if he falls even to 7 his medicals have scared people off so I would hesitate to take him.

Agree, no chance. I have Sexton dropping to 16. I think Carter Jnr could fall if teams shy away from big guys. I think Ayton, JJJ and Bamba would all still go high in that case as all still appear to have unique skills to be successful at the 5.

I am on he fence with Sexton going as high as #6 to Orlando if both Young and Dončić are off the board.

I still think Porter might be worth the 1st pick. The Suns haven’t had him in, so he likely won’t be taken 1st. I’d be shocked if they skip Ayton. Shocked. But I think there’s something in Porter that is a Ben Simmons-level pedigree (not a comparison). Give him a year off. He’ll be the alpha, #1 scorer. I think it’s insane if he doesn’t go, at least, 2nd. If he doesn’t, his back must be literally falling apart.

Porter has immense talent but he has so many problems I dont know where to begin. He has obvious injury concerns back surgery a reported hip problem and refusing medical checks from teams and refusing workouts. He plays upright and stiff his posture is terrible defensively and while dribbling. He doesnt play with agressiveness. His ballhandling is just average at best. His shot selection is bad as he believes he can take any shot and has no sweet spot or shooting patterns. I understand his combination of skill and size is rare but hes unpolished and has been coached to be Kevin Durant but has no fit as a role player. If hes healthy I have him around 10th on my big board no way would I pick him ahead of the Bridges he’s just above Kevin Knox to me.

Epic post, OhCanada. For these reasons, I can really see Michael Patterson being a bust.

The Durant comparison is absurd, Durant since high school was playing like a 6-10 guard with great ball handling, they play nothing a like…

Firstly I hope the Kings play it safe this year between one of Ayton,Bagley,Bamba and Luka. Because they can’t really afford to take a flier this year unless they trade down for him.

I see porter being in the 4-13 range. The flare ups and nature of his injury never boads well for a long career..

A report has surfaced that he may end up sitting out the entire rookie season.
